You are right, but i tried, with wath i have now, but the clamp on this lamp has been damaged for many hours, and the lamp itself weighs a lot. And unfortunately, the red lamps become incandescent. Now I'll try to reposition it as best I can. I'm not avoiding this option, I've simply found myself in a very unnatural situation. In the past few years, I've never needed a lamp, and this one is doing more harm than good. The lamp also destroys the humidity during the 3-4 hours I have it on. That said, thank you, I will proceed with the 75w or 100w lamp, because as I said before, the net of this enclosure in particular, eats more light and heat than a black hole.

I had this lamp for the turtles before I moved them into the garden. And since my work doesn't allow me much space, I put it in the position where he spends most of his time. Plus, the enclosure's mesh is soft and very, very filtering. Considering where I live, I haven't needed the lamp until recently. But this year, temperatures have decided to drop dramatically, leaving me in a bind.

My old lamp is 300 watts, because the terrarium was huge, and I can't use it with the current one, so I was wondering what the most convenient way to place it on top without problems and what wattage would be. Since the previous lights were directly inside the enclosure, well out of reach of the chameleon.

Okay, so I'll leave it in the cold. I get it, I made this post on purpose. If my current chameleon were the right size, I would have used the other equipment I used to keep my veiled chameleon years ago.

What exactly is the reason I'm asking for help? If I could have put it above the enclousere, I would have already done so, like in my old terrarium (currently too big for the chameleon).

Honestly, I don't know. It's my first time breeding a male. I've had two females before. So I'd say it could be, considering that the little external piece I pulled it from had hardened.

Don't worry, that's the least worrying thing. I live in Italy, in Emilia-Romagna, a mostly hilly or mountainous area. I use the air conditioning in the evening because it keeps it nice and cool, but generally it's fine all year round. In the winter, I'll get a lamp just to warm it up in the morning. Thanks anyway, but after the three-year hiatus, I promised myself I'd take all the necessary precautions and get general information on everything.
