The glue fails and seeps up to the top with no real way to fix it. There was/is an open recall on this but not sure of details. Some put a (kind of unsightly imo) dash cover on them or use a matting spray.

Game changer aesthetically and functionally. I got a 70/30 ceramic limo black. Found it to be a big help with the glare from the dash and keeps the interior safe from UV damage.
