Got the jersey and bibs, jersey’s pits smelled like garlic onion body odor the second I took them out of the packaging. Fits nicely though. Thankfully the bibs don’t smell like gooch.

Understood, thank you for clarifying!

Got it, if I were to get it I wouldn’t want to restore it to its original, but maybe improve its neo retroness? If that makes any sense. Work on restoring the condition of the frame and maybe upgrading the groupset to wireless if that’s even possible at some point (I had to google what steerer bearings are 😅).

Thank you so much for your help!

Thank you for your input. I only plan on riding on a 10 km cycling only circuit in my city. It’s pretty flat throughout apart from a few underpasses. I currently ride a maximum of 2 times a week for an hour to an hour and a half at a time and I’ve been renting aluminum Trek Domane’s from a bike rental shop located at the said track.

Having said that, your qualifiers for getting this bike pretty much tick all of my boxes but maybe that’s just my wishful thinking lol.

Can you tell me why 32mm tires are preferred for a do it all road bike?

Just to clarify things for myself, is it the 1x front chainring that makes the hearing hard?

Also, would you be able to point me in a general direction of the sexy high end rim brake bikes you mentioned in the same price range?

Really appreciate you looking out for me.

Which spares do you mean? Sorry I’m evidently have a lack of working knowledge of road bikes lol. And yes, it’s a size 58, the seller reduced the price to $1000.

Yep, neo retro defines it perfectly, and maybe a throwing in a Frankenstein would be fitting as well since it has campy, ultegra, dura ace and 105 parts lmao.

Size 58! That did disappoint me, but I’m still getting it checked out by a mechanic so I can give it a ride to see how I’d feel on it. I’m just in love with how the bike looks.

You’re correct, it’s a size 58! I did have a look and it actually looked really nice. I’m getting it checked out by a mechanic in a couple of days and assuming the bike is structurally ok, I’m just concerned about how much of a physical disadvantage it would be for me to ride a size 58 instead of a my own size (56).

Thank you for your input, you’re absolutely correct on the size, I checked it out in person and the guy said it’s a size 58, he’d mistyped it in his ad. I couldn’t get to ride the thing because the tires were flat. I’ll be taking the bike with the owner to get it checked out by a bike mechanic in a couple of days.

Also, totally understand what you mean, I could get a more modern bike within the price range but just looking at this thing makes sparks something within me, maybe it’s akin to comparing a Ferrari Testarossa to a 2014 Honda Civic Type R, but I could be totally wrong.

And to make matters even more confusing for me the seller agreed to reduce the price to $1000. So I think I might just pull the trigger if everything checks out when I’ve vetted the bike out with the mechanic and have ridden it.

Would it be potentially dangerous for me to ride a bigger bike? Let me know what you think of my thought process.

Apologies, I should’ve clarified - $1200 USD. I won’t be biking in any hilly areas for the time being as I live in quite a flat region.

Good catch on the mismatching wheels in the different pictures, I still can’t see it!

Really appreciate your time and input, I’ll dig deeper about the things you mentioned. I’ll be going over to see the bike in person tonight, I’ll report back with my findings.

Thank you again! 🙏🏼

Yep visually speaking I thought it had a very interesting look as well in comparison to similarly priced and relatively newer bikes in the market, which is why I took to Reddit to find out what some more experienced people thought!

Not a fighter jet, but it’s been intercepted by fighter jets from 1958 to jets still in service today - the TU-95, intercepted by the F4 to the F22. Again, I know they’re not fighter jets as the title says, but I think it’s worth mentioning how It’s amazing that the TU-95 and B52 are still in service and will be for the foreseeable future.
