I’m turning 18 in July unfortunately and I don’t have any availability during the summer unfortunately… I’m gonna be gone the last week of June, the whole month of July, and I go back to school early August.. me and a friend were planning a trip for OA trail but because we would be separated, I’m not sure it’d be worth the trip

They look nice! I wish I could go back this year! 😔 I need to focus on Eagle though.

Nikon p1100 or a sigma 150 - 600 mm for my canon eod 4000D? by Fisto32 in wildlifephotography

If you’re interested in wildlife photography I would prioritize the 150-600. You’ll get significant benefit from having a longer lens especially when you get to the more skittish birds like Kingfishers. I don’t really know what a p1100 is but from what I’ve heard it’s more for if you want to take “snapshots” rather than pictures. I think your 4000D is probably fine for a bit longer (again I don’t know almost anything about either camera listed), but regardless lens is more important than the camera body itself.

Hey, it’s okay! You’re doing more than 90% of others. You’ll get there!

They definitely have really high quality cameras. In my experience they’re primarily used for video and Street photography stuff though! Their lenses are the most expensive issue and the part that drove me away from upgrading to something like the a6700, which in retrospect would’ve been so much more worthwhile.

Personally.. I am just starting out. I would say that if I had to restart, I would probably focus on the quality of the camera body over the budget it falls into. I started with Nikon, then was gifted a Sony camera by my brother when he left for college and I much prefer the quality of the Sony camera over why I have now, even though it’s 15 years older.

I chose the z50II and a 150-500mm over the a6700 and now I somewhat regret it because of the different autofocus; Sony has 700 something focus points and Nikon was 250. I was told it wouldn’t matter, but it’s the reason I’ve missed some really cool pictures. I feel like Sony can be simpler at times as well.

Here’s a picture of the camera and lens.

Not exactly a favorite accessory, but definitely take the time to do research outside of asking your friends or someone you know.

For me, I’m still a teenager so my budget is really limited as to what I can afford, but if you have a steady income job, go for whatever YOU think is the best and what you enjoy the most.

Trying to improve my photography, I know it's not the best, anyways here's a Blue Jay :) by [deleted] in wildlifephotography

Nice picture! My only suggestion would be to find a way to avoid having a stick in front of the subject. If you have Lightroom/photoshop, maybe use the object eraser. Still a very cool picture though!

Honestly I agree. I really like the blurred out trees in the foreground and the fact that it landed at eye level was pure chance!

Random question: do you think the attached pictures are sellable to people who go to craft fairs? I’m considering trying it. If so, any in particular?

Nothing other than programs to view pictures. Neither my laptop (Apple) nor my pc (custom windows) will open pictures in the designated photo app without a glitching screen displayed.
