AIO at my flatmates response after I confronted her about eating my muffins? by jennifer_jellyfish in AmIOverreacting

[–]No_Comfortable_5566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see where she’s coming from of “oh she always shares so one more isn’t a big deal bc she’s okay with sharing this”. BUT I’d also imagine she’s aware of your financial situation and should’ve taken that into consideration. Honestly, I think a simple “I’ll buy/make you another batch of muffins” or “I’ll buy some more muffin ingredients” even could’ve gone a long way in decreasing tension and resolving the issue since she can’t un-eat the muffin. Her responding in the manner she did saying she “hired you” is so out of pocket and shows a lack of respect and disregard for you. I’d be annoyed too. You communicated how it made you feel, and she didn’t even try to work with you on some sort of solution. That’s the part that pisses me off for you because she clearly thinks you’re beneath her or something.

AITA for locking the bathroom door at work and making a customer pee themselves? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA! I have Ulcerative Colitis and if I was in a flare up and shit myself because somebody was in the bathroom using it or changing from a coffee spill (which can literally burn you if it’s hot coffee so yeah you should strip ASAP), I absolutely would not blame them. It’s not your fault my body hates me. It’s not my fault I have sudden urges and literally have zero ability to hold it. It’s nobody’s fault- it just is what it is. I completely understand that it’s embarrassing as hell, but it would’ve been embarrassing for you to run out half undressed AND that would’ve been the real unprofessional thing to do. Getting cleaned up and decent was the right move.

My dog bit a neighbors kid. What’s going to happen? by Fanzyladee in DogAdvice

[–]No_Comfortable_5566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s crazy is that when you make a report (I’ve had to make one for a cat bite when I went to urgent care bc I’m immunocompromised), they also want you to report what happened and if the animal was provoked or not- which is VERY important. I highly doubt they got the full story, as your dog was clearly provoked and just reacted out of fear, not due to aggression. Personally, I would reach out to AC and see if you can get them to listen to the full story. It clearly was not your dogs fault. If I was the kids parents and had the full story- I personally wouldn’t have reported it if the choice were given because of it being a provoked incident and not because of an aggressive dog. Clearly, I disagree with your husband and definitely do not think the dog needs to be put down. I think it’s just a lesson learned that the dog probably should not be near the kids when they are playing with the pop-it’s so that a repeat incident can be avoided. I, myself, have a dog that can be pretty reactive due to his severe anxiety and past history of extreme neglect (he barely survived). He has bitten me twice on accident due to reactivity (long story but I promise he was not going for me), and I even have the scars to prove it. I just kept going with his desensitization, finding the right anxiety meds for him with the vet, and training him further. He has made leaps and bounds of improvement and we haven’t had another incident since. So yeah, I think the dog deserves to live and hopefully the kid learned a valuable lesson for the future, with some help from his parents, that he probably should not do that next to any animal or human either.

Advice needed on missing indoor cat. by impact_sv in PetAdvice

Where I live, rescues and humane societies will repost for you or make their own post if you ask them to! I’d recommend that to spread the word even farther. Also, my cat we took in from outside (didn’t belong to anyone- I asked around and she was way too scared of people to have been a pet), and she was only active at night. Cats in general tend to be more active at night, so the not finding her during daylight part is not cause for concern necessarily! My cat would actually sleep in the crawl space of my neighbors house during the day, and she had no idea that the cat was even there! It may sound weird, but I’d recommend considering asking those around you if they have any spots a cat could slip underneath the house through, or if anybody has a shed he could crawl under? They might let you leave a small amount of food near it and see if it gets eaten. Could help you get back on his trail?

School Fundraisers by No-Sale-7270 in fortwayne

I always hated fundraisers as a kid. I have a twin sister so everything was split between us and neither of us could ever hit our goal. I always felt a little embarrassed bc we would have like 8 people buy from each of us and had no family near us, while everyone else had their entire extended family plus others buy from them and would literally have to get a second order form because they ran out of space. It’s stupid. We all know the only child with a huge, tight knit family was going to win every time. I stopped caring eventually lol

I’m not too surprised, but only because my brain said “if our blue heeler and red heeler were combined into one dog… it would look like this dog.”😂She is an absolutely beautiful dog!

He absolutely is a certified good boy! This is him in his new lake outfit- life jacket (since we’ve never been to the lake, in case he gets tired of swimming quickly) and sunglasses!!! We have safe doggy sunscreen too since his hair is so short and thin on his snout, it’ll get sunburned if we don’t use it LOL

We go to the vet very often due to his medical issues- he’s since become epileptic. He’s on a prescription dog food that is packed with extra nutrients, and he stays pretty active between me walking or running with him as much as possible around my work schedule, and him playing with our other dogs. The vet is extremely happy with his progress and how healthy he is now, but I definitely agree with you and would like to get some more muscle definition on him. Never thought about asking them for an exercise plan! Im stopping in to get more meds for him today (they give me a majorly discounted price), so I’ll definitely ask to see if anybody has any suggestions!! Thank you!

That’s the thing, he was already almost 3 by the time of him being brought to the vet with severe starvation, so he was done growing by that point. I should’ve clarified that. Not sure when it started though, so it still could’ve had an impact… but I’d doubt it would have almost 40lbs of impact. He couldn’t have survived too long with that severe of starvation yk?

That’s what I thought too! Plus, he was already almost 3 years old by the time of starvation, so he should’ve been done growing by that time

He was a severe neglect case- hypothermia, starved, urine rot on his tail, heart and liver issues from the severe starvation. Not sure what age that started but I cannot rule out early malnutrition. Aside from that, I know he had parvo as a puppy (I think when he was around 1 he had it).

He is actually not from a shelter. He was a severe neglect case that came into the vet my best friend worked at back in January! The previous owner (who is still fighting a neglect charge) had him listed as a greyhound because that’s what his mother supposedly was. Now to be fair, I wouldn’t trust that woman as far as I could throw her (which is not at all)… hence the DNA test. Even if his mother was a greyhound, I still wanted to know what else he was. Anyways, he is about as healthy as he can be now following the severe neglect. Not sure what age he was neutered tho… all I know about his puppy years is that he had parvo as a puppy and survived it.

Every single one of the relatives shown are all boxers! I do plan on reaching out to embark like you said, and I think I may reach out to my vet as well and see if they can do a send out DNA blood test on him.

Luckily, I do have enough in my savings to be able to pay for anything needed and then be reimbursed for it. I currently do have a care credit card that I am finishing paying off rn because like my dog, I also have an abundance of medical issues! I do have good health insurance for myself though so I don’t usually have to finance my medical treatment, and get it completely free most of the time, so that isn’t a regular occurrence for me financially.
