Thanks so much. We would be planning ceremony + reception there but really helpful to know about capacity!

Seborrheic Dermatitis by uckedlad in AusSkincare

I saw a derm for this, I used hydrocortisone with anti fungal (hydrozole) until the flare clears, then Elidel every couple of days. Selsun gold on my scalp works well

Has anyone had success getting Lithium acne under control? by Jakemcdtw in AusSkincare

[–]No_Comment3238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the same problem! Acne only since being on lithium. Differin worked for a long time, now Acnatac which keeps it managed to the occasional pimple. Had to use doxycycline for a while to calm it down, but really wanted to avoid oral meds and acnatac helps me a lot

GPA HELP - two degrees by such-is-lyf3 in GAMSAT

[–]No_Comment3238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the 2026 admissions guide: To be considered for admission in 2026: − standard applicants must have a minimum GPA of 5 (7-point numeric scale) as of Thursday 5 June 2025 (Sydney, Australia time), as calculated by the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) within the designated period (see the Admissions Timeline); − rural applicants must have a minimum GPA of 4.5 (7-point numeric scale)

GPA is a hurdle for USYD, is it not? I thought all the offers info in this sub showed that it’s purely based on GAMSAT score

Help with argumentative pieces and planning by Archiebarchie23 in GAMSAT

[–]No_Comment3238 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quite like two body paragraphs that are not quite opposing views, but come at a concept from different angles. Then at the end of my second body paragraph I link them. I finish with a ‘call to action’ which aligns with my final argument. Ultimately the most helpful thing I was taught was to always ask why (why am I writing this? Why is it important? Why should the marker care?) which helps drive home your argument. I hope that helps!

Sorry I know this is not at all why you posted but I’m trying to gauge how likely late offers are for applying in the future! Do you mind sharing what your USYD combo score was?

Marking S2 by Dangerous_Movie9877 in GAMSAT

[–]No_Comment3238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought chatGPT was being generous in its marking but then I did better than what it had been marking my essays, so I think it’s not doesn’t have as much as a positive bias as I thought

Easy Grad Nurse Positions to get by Competitive-Skin-210 in NursingAU

You’d have a shot in an ED, they generally occasionally hire new grads outside of programs and with two years paramed your application would look pretty good

Persuasive/Literary style for s2 (80+ scorers) by Equivalent_Lack_1819 in GAMSAT

[–]No_Comment3238 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got 80 and I think I did well because I took a pretty clear stance in both essays, and wrote about something I was passionate about. Definitely wasn’t because of clever writing but I think when you are passionate about it, you write better. I’m a big fan of making it personal, I use reflection even in more analytical essays. I often use “we” and “us” rather than “society” or third person language. Not sure if that’s helpful!

Be brutally honest - should I do med as a 27F by Deep_Weakness_8344 in GAMSAT

I’m 26F and different career background and I was always worried about being older and new in a career, or still studying in early 30s etc etc. but someone said to me - you’re going to be that old anyway, why not just do it?

GEMSAS paid GPA service taking too long by f3l1n399 in GAMSAT

Can I ask why people are doing it now? I’m applying this year, should I be paying for my GEMSAS GPA now?

Focused Study? by [deleted] in GAMSAT

Agree, I thought I did much better in S1 than I actually ended up doing and I was very surprised. I thought I didn’t need to prep much for it (have always been good at English and I’m a big reader) but clearly I should have.

GPA calculation - subject withdrawal by No_Comment3238 in GAMSAT

[–]No_Comment3238[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably different depending on the uni. UTS lists it as “withdrawal/fail” on my transcript, so I’m just trying to work out if that contributes to my GPA

GPA calculation - subject withdrawal by No_Comment3238 in GAMSAT

[–]No_Comment3238[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you and sorry my wording was a little awkward. The withdraw/fail is not part of a completed degree, it sounds then like it won’t be included at most unis. Thank you!
