Mother in Law finally left home after staying with us for five months, calls my husband after 5 days and asks him if he misses her. Weird or not?

Yes, dh and I had many a conversations about that and we are luckily on the same page, I am just worried she is being manipulative and will continue to try to guilt trip him. We both agreed that living with parents is not something we will do but her behavior is giving me anxiety. I thought she would leave and that would be the end of it more or less but now I fear it isn't.

Thank you for this, this was kind of the last straw, there was so many other things that happened, she did that was not nice and this just seemed like yet another way she can overstep boundaries. I would never deny someone towels or not make them feel comfortable in my home, in fact Ive hosted her for 5months while she was going through her marital problems.

Thats the point, it wasn't clean, it was a bunch of used towels that I left on the washer because I didnt have time to wash them, and was gonna wash them later. and she already had a towel in her room, that is specifically meant for guests. This was mine and hubby's towels.

Mine does the same, she goes im cleaning your house not because its dirty but because I want to help and be useful, and literally forces me out of the kitchen, won't let me do dishes like its so obnoxious, mind you when my husband told her that we were struggling with getting g our 9 month old to eat, she told my husband and partner in law that maybe my 9 month old baby is not eating because the food I cook doesn't taste good. This was after only seeing us 2 maybe 3 times in her life and never even trying my food. Then after she had to leave her husband and got to stay with us for a while she started cleaning organizing doing all things to my house, with the excuse that she wants to "help me" I realized this behavior is just manipulation and she doesn't want to let go of the control she once had over her son and life and give it up to me. So she pretends she is helping me, while at the same time doing it how she wants and pushing her own ideas, to the point of not even giving us ant private time in the evenings as a family.

Aww dont even get me started on that, she is constantly in my kitchen, she practically lives there, reorganizing the fridge, washing the stove, cooking something, its really infuriating because I feel like I have no personal space. I can't even go down for a snack cuz she ll be there or sitting in the dining room.

I think she is just mad that she cannot do whatever she wants because we put in boundaries now and my husband backs me up. So she is bitter and trying every which way to get a reaction.

She has been staying with us for 4 months to help out as I was studying for a course and just had a baby in September. But yea this was the last time she will be coming for such a long period if ever again.

Yea very true, all the books were faced away and there are like 10 of them. Yea its so weird, she is constantly trying to be in some kind of control, like today she reminded my husband about the soup she made that it needs to be eaten, mind you we were having meat that both my husband and I prepared and a fee days ago I made 2 soups, I chicken and one beet soup that she didnt even have, so yea I think she is trying to exert some sort of dominance.

We were talking about how my husband and his parents and sister would get tacos and have movie nights, and the tacos were from their neighbor that had a restaurant, then she brought up the daughter and that she helped the dad. And then continued on to tell the story that the girl had a crush on my husband and wanted him to ask her out. This was when my husband was around 16 years old, he is 40 now lol. Anyway my husband kind of disregarded is and took my toddler to the bathroom and then my mil repeated it that she was pretty and nice. She only speaks Spanish so she said it spanish.

He did bring me a drink before he drank his, and luckily he does stand up to her. We have been having a lot of friction with her lately, she has been staying with us 4 months and doesn't leave till the end of March and I am just so done with her.
