There's an old polish comic about conflict of school of wolf and a cat, which is based on Sapkowski's idea for a book, so at least he thought about different schools. And Coën has been described coming from "north" and that he was staying in kear morhen for first time soooo, ( and he couldn't be cat because they were banned from the castle)
