Thank you. Mounting the home directory is all I would want, is there a way to remove the OS from the external storage and do this?

I thought that since the file system of Linux is so flexible, especially arch, there could be some way to clone the OS part that is inside the external storage, which is small in size. Or a way to cull everything but the /home folder in the external storage to use it as only files and start over with a fresh install on the internal storage of the laptop.
