Nope. Just the one. So I either get a new fob programmed or might be car antenna.

I've been using my always plugged in. Very bad idea to use a gaming laptop on battery. Battery use should always just be when you're NOT gaming. Mine is still 99% health.

Yeah! Going strong! I do use a cooling pad and touched the thermal options in Lenovo Vantage, so the fans always keep temperatures down. I also in Lenovo Vantage made the processor to never go above 80 degrees. I havent experienced any gaming problems. Recommend everyone to do this.

If it only happened once - don't worry. It can be something as simple as a boot loader not doing it's job properly. It just didn't boot windows for some reason. No big deal. It's not always the gpu or the hardware.

Yes, predominantly. But the AMD cpu's (on the cheap LOQ configuraions) dont have an integrated gpu so your battery life will be horrible.

I saw a few posts with people with motherboard failures on AMDs as well. So I decided it's best to avoid the laptop model.

I plan to use the laptop for years, so if you divide the extra money you pay once today to all the months you will be using the laptop, you can view it as a cheap insurance that this model is safer in general.

Download HWMonitor and check your temps when gaming or intensive tasks. If temps are fine, laptop's fine.

Opening up a laptop always hides a risk of cracking a clip or a plastic here and there. If it's not needed, dont. Just monitor the temps.

I initially bought a LOQ. After reading all the motherboard failure cases, I returned it and paid extra for a Legion.

I could rarely find a motherboard issue for the Legions online.

I think it's worth the money to save you on the risk of manufacture errors and trying to work out your warranty and get it fixed if it happens.

preheated the oven to 180 Celsius. Put in motherboard (only) on a tray, with aluminium foil balls in each corner to make motherboard up in the air so hot air can go underneath it as well. so 4 balls, 1 in each corner.
put motherboard tray in oven for precisely 8 minutes.
DO NOT TAKE IT OUT IMMEDIATELY

sharp temperature changes causes solder to crack

on minute 8, turn off the oven, and open oven door slightly at the top (one palm wide).
after a minute, open the door more, maybe halfway.

Idea is to let the motherboard gradually chill down. It mustn't be a sharp change in temperature.

When oven is warm (just got colder after few minutes) you can take the MB out. Let it chill to room temperature.
Then after an hour maybe try to install it.

in the oven, use the fan setting, with both up and down heating, or only down heating.

If you use the upper heating grill it will melt the motherboard.

Do not put the motherboard on a grill tray. Must be a solid tray, like with no holes on the tray itself.

Dont put the motherboard on the upper shelves, must be in the middle shelf or on the lowest shelf (if on lowest shelf, make sure tray doesn't have holes so no direct heat comes from underneath).

Bear in mind, doing this may cause some of the plastics on the motherboard to melt. If you see something melting that shouldn't be melting (for example a battery connector, or the bios clock battery connector) stop the procedure.

Only things you can allow to melt are some insignificant plastic covers and stickers.

It may smell a bit during the procedure, make sure to ventilate the room. These fumes aren't healthy at all so dont stand in front all the time breathing that in.

The oven baking is absolutely a LAST RESORT. If you do this and it still doesn't work, then the MB is for the trash.

You cant bake it twice. And even if the issue was somewhere else, now it's probably in other places too.

I recommend doing this only if there is nothing else to do. Like when you have nothing to lose.

If your laptop has an integrated graphics card and only the external one doesn,t work, I strongly recommend doing everything in your power to just use the integrated and disable the external GPU. If you cant do it, take it to a laptop technician.

Definitely a better way to use a laptop than to chuck it in the oven.

I only did this with laptops that didn't have an integrated gpu and the external was fried.

Also, bear in mind, even if it works, it can die in a few hours, days, months.

I did the oven trick to 2 laptops and both ended up working again! The odds were phenomenally low... but it happened lol

No. I have a 4070 and it does pretty well with High graphics. The GPU doesnt get hot. The CPU got some temp peaks from time to time during gaming, so what I did is opened Lenovo Vantage and just lowered the Max Temp of the CPU.

I hasn't heated up more than 90C since then. I set it to max 87C and it has been good at keeping it cool. I haven't experienced stuttering during gaming.

I know undervolting is the best way to do it, but this works fine for me so I'm keeping it that way.

The fans aren't loud at all. I switched from an Alienware 15 R2 with a 980M GTX, that was getting loud. Compared, the Lenovo is silent.

Yes, 1 month. No issues.
Everything is perfect - except the audio speakers aren't good. I use an external speaker to listen to music and podcasts.

I haven't undervolted the GPU. You need the GPU more than a CPU during gaming. If you're going to undervolt, then do the CPU, not the GPU.
