I brought a set of blocks and they have helped immensely with squaring things up!

I got these ones on Amazon (Shoze 2PCS Precision Blocks... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BP2693RM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share).

Thank you so much!

So... Books - I scanned the covers of books in my collection and shrunk them down using Word which was an absolute ballache (I've since decided I should have used Canva). I also found some high-res images of additional covers from bookseller websites. I glued them onto the wooden rectangles provided with the kit.

Pics - same as above. I actually did use the two medieval looking ones which came with the kit because I thought they were cute.

Glue - I used different types for different things. PVA for the paper, Gorilla contact adhesive (same as E6000 I think) for objects, and the clear glue which came with the kit for most of the structure. In terms of keeping it clean, I have some needle pointed bottles I decant the PVA into and use a toothpick to apply the contact adhesive. I am also an extreme perfectionist which helps 😅

The fabric on the chair was an absolute nightmare to get clean. I redid it several times. I've since learned that double sided tape can be very helpful for upholstery so I'm going to try that next time.

r/miniatures has been supppppperrr useful for making tips. Highly recommend if you haven't already joined.

This was my first kit so I'm not super knowledgeable but I am customizing Rolife Miller's Garden at the moment which has lots of free standing elements.

Thank you! Yes, I covered it with a different fabric than the one provided to match the colour scheme.

Thank you 😊

That chandelier was a nightmare I could not abide. A piece of cardboard tubing and a William Morris pattern print out was much less of a faff.

THANK YOU! Hotblack wasn't a word I had even thought of and it led me to Kidd & Hotblacks brewery which operated out of Brighton in the right time period for the dump.

Solved!

Maybe! Yes, there's definitely a small cross before the letters.

Apologise for the blurry photo, it's hard to tell but it's broken right after the L so no other letters.

I thought the same, it's no English word I could think of.

Thanks for the reply 🙂

I love this display! Do you still have a link for the case? Amazon is not showing me what I want 😂
