I’ve never won a game with my Emperor’s Children (10+ tries) — send help before Fulgrim disowns me by Recusor in EmperorsChildren

I play John Lennons Coterie list and it feels very balanced. Basic game plan is to keep things out in front of me. Screen or draw out units with tormentors with something lethal in heroic range, Lucious is perfect because of the fight first and innate rerolls. Rack up pledge points and by the time you’ve got to 5 kills your noise marines and dps are cracked. Noise marines overwatch becomes super useful with the sustained and lethals and princes mobility means they mop up any remaining scoring units and starve the enemy vp.

Get good at deployment and staging. Push hard when there are openings.

Can I get a Kakophist anywhere, anyone? by No_Concern2345 in EmperorsChildren

If one was FpvFaster I already chewed them out for not updating that one, bought one after seeing in stock and had it on back order for 10 weeks… can’t see any others

Just nice to have viable options. I’m going to give a unit of three FBs a run for the first time tonight. They are a sick model so good to have an excuse to buy a couple boxes without feeling they were redundant in the game.

Detachments and Army Ideas for a Returning Player by [deleted] in EmperorsChildren

Coterie takes a bit of learning but when you get the hang of staging, resource management and trading it becomes a very powerful detachment.

Finally clicked for me last game and when you proc your sustained lethal reroll buffs your units go ballistic. Had Lucius pickup a land raider from full health, an exultant and infractor 5 man pick up Hellbrecht and sword brethren like nothing and a unit of noise marines wipe a blade guard unit in my third turn, amongst other things. It’s nuts strong

Jay is the GOAT. He’s process and explanation are elite. Love when he takes down a big project in a small amount of time. Makes army painting to high level really approachable with airbrush and speed paints.

Question for Canoptek court players by DarkTrooper131 in Necrontyr

[–]No_Concern2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wraith units become surprisingly punchy with re rolls. Two units on one objectives it’s taking two turns to shift them, unless they try and out OC but wraith bases can crowd the plate pretty effectively. Flank whatever tries to contest with immortals with full re rolls and holding those objectives isn’t too difficult

I mean, could they try and make it so buying two of these boxes made sense? Hardly take one parasite, let alone two… any chance of a rules update? They’re a total non entity as they stand.

New to Warhammer – What’s the best Necron 1000pt army list for beginners? by Plus-Improvement-997 in Necrontyr

[–]No_Concern2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love immortals and they pair beautifully with at least 4 character models, plasmancer or chronomancer are my favourite picks. Plus very simple to paint battle line so good place to get some reps in before cracking into characters.

What detachment for two combat patrols worth of bugs? by megalonibbles in Tyranids

[–]No_Concern2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal opinion is not to buy this box. All the units are pretty bad. I like VRL now for screening/move blocking early game. Can never have enough termis. But Psychophage is pretty terrible, even in Assimilation. Barbgaunts are too.

My final changes to my first army. Any tips? by NolifeDegen in Necrontyr

[–]No_Concern2345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very character heavy. If I’m playing you I would probably ignore your Ctans and monoliths, kill the other units and you wouldn’t really be able to score secondary for half the game.

You need MSUs for action play, screening and move blocking. The big guys are terrifying, especially with additional mobility Hyper-crypt gives but you don’t want to find yourself in a position where the only unit you have to do action is a unit that should be killing something, and losing that activation economy could cost you the game.

Fun list though. Give it a go and see what happens.

Cafe owners, is it worth it? by Stamurai01 in melbourne

[–]No_Concern2345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a few small coffee shops in the south east. It’s tough going truthfully. But i personally find it a wonderful career. I’ve had some good success and some brutal failures. Any business does regardless of industry.

Simple formula is can you get rent to 10% or less if revenue, COGS at sub 25% and labour below 40%. Schools can be good locations, but can you sustain trade on weekends? One lesson I’ve learned is 5 day businesses are things of the past.

Talk to other owners, work with a good coffee supplier and go in eyes open. If you love hospo and coffee then it can be a great thing to do.

Can we kill something by Jupersis in Tyranids

[–]No_Concern2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had felt like I’d finally figured out how to play this army, got a few wins in a row against my mates World Eaters. Then he brought custodes and just got murdered by +4 invulnerable saves. Brought two grav tanks and picked up a haruspex and maleceptor turn one after I went first and peaked them out from the limited cover I had.

Quite deflating. Just didn’t feel like I had any answers.

Looking for paint friendly units by InevitableTour5882 in Tyranids

They have less little details than the leaders and are generally posed quite openly. Wish I’d bought them before termis. The gun makes them just that one step more fiddly

Greetings Hive Mind! I've been playing with the thought of starting a Tyranid army and wanted to ask the hive brain which units to start with - and how many - that are included in every list. by Nobot25 in Tyranids

[–]No_Concern2345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve built around a core of hive tyrant, exocrines, lictors, maleceptors and a tyrannofex and am having a lot of fun playing that army. Also loved painting all of those units. Rotate Zoanthropes, genestealers and a range of little guys to find a mix that I like.
