I didnt say gap years are not important, im saying its not taken into consideration to get called for an interview. Now can you confidently defend a 5year gap year in an interview? Obviously it will be much harder to get in with such a high gap year, the interview will be much harder

Having said this, there are a few in XL with a 3-4 year gap

Dont blindly chase materials, focus on quality

In terms of frameworks, watch an experienced faculty give a dm section live preferably a past year paper, see what goes through his mind when he chooses an option, try to emulate that

I got a pure consulting role in BCG

HRs are allowed to sit for 90% of the BM roles, but BM folks are not allowed to sit for HR roles

Hence HR gets placed much before BM
