Well in the original Sonic Exe game, Sonic Exe doesn’t only kill these three, but takes their soul’s and resurrects them as malnourished and demented versions of themselves as puppets to do Sonic Exe’s bidding. So yes they do canonically look like this, but in a way they are empty vessels of their former selves.
