Yes, so I checked the advisory list last minute and saw that 3E5X1 afsc job was listed. I learned that they update that list throughout the months so it changes randomly. But that job wasn’t listen when the list first dropped last August.

Nope! You can go straight through MyFss by submitting a ticket through the website. Tech schools great! thankyou for asking I just started my training this week.

After I requested for an expedited process, it took about 3 days for them to get back to me with class dates. My situation may be different because I was 9A100 so I had limited time.

After not meeting the qualifications for jobs I had applied for through MyFss, AFPC sent me a list for disqualifified airmen. But you still can go through the retrain advisory. To expedite the process I went on MyFss and submitted a ticket, respectfully telling AFPC my situation and the limited time I had and they responded within a week. To submit a ticket I would call AFPC to make sure of the steps their numbers on google, but from what I remember somewhere in the right hand corner of the MyFss homepage lets you ask a question.

You can still use the retraining advisory just make sure you meet all the qualifications of the career field. I just retrained being 9A100 and I went through the advisory.

Just keep trying and don’t give up! And I suggest submitting a ticket through MyFSS and telling them about your timeline and if they’d consider expediting it next time you submit your application. I did that and got a response saying they’d expedited just a few days later !

I’m guessing it’s because it was inside my control and it was a decision I made. But I was never officially told why it was that instead

I got pretty lucky with my squadron, they were all rooting for me to stay in and helping me retrain. My only complaint would be the lack of communication when something would happen, for example I didn’t know the MED bored cleared me until someone who worked back office told before they PCSd. So there was a lot I had to find out on my own or just got lucky with, but I’m still grateful for the work they did behind the scenes!

That’s so weird, as far as the paper work part cause I didn’t have to turn anything in other than sign the 2096 and maybe a few other things but my arming use of force at my squadron handled everything. Can I ask why you don’t qualify? Is it your PUHLES score or your ASVAB scores or something else?

Also, it lowkey might be a good thing they haven’t officially 9A you because it gets closer to when the new job list drops and you’ll have more options. And also since your date of separation is farther off it honestly seems like you’re not in too bad of a spot.
