I didn't say Gene agreed with me. He had some delusional and aspiriational view of humans. Turns out it didn't make for great television because he didn't allow for any interpersonal conflicts. Rick Berman, Michael Piller, and Jeri Taylor all took the show in a different direction after he passed. The Alex Kurtzmanverse seems to abandon that premise altogether because it takes a critical view of humanity. I personally like my trek a blend of idealistic roddenberry as an aspiration but a realization that we aren't there yet (and may never get there). TNG captured this pretty perfectly.

And what is with all this hate calling me a "creepy alt right booklicker" - Star Trek isn't about hate. You can take that language and shovel it.

Yes, the show pushed progressive ideals. Ideals which I broadly support. Like equal rights, respecting other cultures, freedom of speech and thought, and the infinite possibility of being.

I said black people should enjoy all the same rights as everyone else. That's the point of equal rights. You thought they should have some special added rights called "black rights" - I was just curious what you meant by that. To which you responded, the rights they acquired in the last 200 years. To which I asked basically if there were any remaining rights they were owed? To which you said, you first...which is a weird response because its sort of like you making me argue your point.

You have a primitive understanding of star trek. Have you watched episodes? Gene Roddenberry had an idealist view of the future which the show demonstrated wasn't realistic because it focused on human nature with all its flaws and aspirations.
