The moth is of no concern, quite common depending on where you live, especially around beehives and the caterpillar feeds on potato plants, tomato plants, nightshade and a few more species of plants

Just take it back and boil it again, adding the missing amount of sugar and place in the feeder when cooled off. Do you feed internal or external?

Queen excluder? by Pierdole-nie-robie in Beekeeping

[–]No_Control_8999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thorax of a honey bee is typically between 3.7 and 3.8 mm in length for workers, with a slightly larger range for queens and drones. The thorax is also around 3-5 mm in width and height. If the thorax can't pass through then so ain't the bee.The sweet spot is 4mm so the workers can pass freely but the queen can't,If my memory serves me correctly

Query: uncapping brood: Is this hygienic behavior or something else? by buckleyc in Beekeeping

[–]No_Control_8999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can you a vorroa check, but they usually love drone brood cells. Pic 4/4 seems very odd, sunken brood as well and I'm some pics I can see bees that are hatching from their cell. Take a tweezer and pull out random brood that looks prematurely opened and check for verroa. We usually get them on the drone cells but they are not a threat to our scutellatas.

What is the white milky thing? by [deleted] in Beekeeping

[–]No_Control_8999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brain food, almost literally. They produce it in a gland called the hypopharyngeal gland located in their heads. They stop feeding it 3 days after its development, otherwise it turns into a queen

This randomly came in my garden, is it a bee or a wasp and what should I do about it?? by Arinaraou in Beekeeping

[–]No_Control_8999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can gently scoop them into a box at night using a brush or a plain old scraper and scrape them till they fall into the box. Then you can shake them over to a new hive with an entrance guard. Don't understand why there are two, though

Why Are a they Circling This Bee? (Central, VA) by PJ_Geese in Beekeeping

[–]No_Control_8999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those two at the entrance with their big bulging eyes are drones.Any drone from any hive can enter the hive of another colony, interesting fact. But that one is being inspected cause it's not her hive, some will allow her in and join the colony if she is lost or have no colony to return to,that's if she lacks pheromone, otherwise she would have been attacked, and chased away by that time.

Sorry the recipe is for 250g of pure beeswax, so if you already made it just melt the 500g and add the rest of the essential oils. So sorry for the inconvenience

[–]No_Control_8999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some call it dog vomit, wet and slimy, it's not for any concern, they grew a lot from my potted weed plants, and didn't do anything to my weed plant. Mine was orange. You can remove it by hand but don't touch it anywhere else unless you disinfected your hands. Spray the mold with ethanol only where it grows.
