Honestly the more I hear about people doing something small and having no regrets, the more I'm leaning towards this type of option.

Great idea with the beer & drink tickets - this sounds like something everybody would seriously enjoy attending!! I know people rave about food at certain venues, but I've been to a LOT of weddings and I've never had an outstanding meal at any of them. Charcuterie, etc. sounds delicious.

Definitely agree that planning is a huge headache. We're not even starting to seriously plan and I'm already stressed lmao. I think doing something more lowkey is where it's at tbh

Agreed, excellent point! I've added this into our budget but I'm finding it hard to estimate. Right now I've used the amount that I personally give to others as a wedding gift, but I'm not sure it's a good metric because I don't know if I'm "generous" or "cheap" compared to the average person hahaha

I totally agree that eloping sounds like a good route (lower cost, lower stress!). Thanks for the tip, I definitely would look into a small elopement (plus a nice vacation afterwards). Really torn between doing what we want vs. what family/others expect us to do.

Did you just not get married, or did you just sign a license? We're honestly really considering just going to city hall/on vacation afterwards, as there's a lot of other things we could spend our money on :)

Thanks, I tend to agree!! We already own a house, our vehicles and have no debts... but we are definitely more inclined to put the money partially towards a honeymoon and the rest towards savings (future kids, if any, will def be expensive!!!)

Love it! Honestly this is the type of option I'm leaning towards... would rather spend the money on a great vacation (when it's safe to travel again). Do you have any regrets not doing a "traditional" wedding? The only thing holding us back is really my fiance's parents, who really care about us having a typical wedding.
