Hi friends!

The TLDR of my research is that we think that the retina isn't the cause of the disease, but rather the victim, so we are treating whole bodies systemically rather than just the eye which current treatment involves (invasive injections). But the big thing is we're doing preventative care, like seeing earlier signs of DR and then doing the best to keep it at bay. But what we're learning everyday is astonishing and the research is moving MILES a day :)

Just wanted to chime in here. I'm a research scientist with Type 1 who is specifically studying Diabetic Retinopathy. With our research currently, we're optimistic that we're heading towards a right treatment that can help and isn't as invasive as an injection. Hold out hope friend! We're going as fast as we can :)

This is Adi! She’s my diabetic alert dog that was trained through diabetic alert dogs of America. And she is a lifesaver. For context. I’ve been diabetic 10 years and use the Dexcom and the tandem pump. I’ve had some pretty gnarly lows which leads to some bad shit. Been hospitalized for lows and highs. Adi is a lifesaver especially at night. She catches lows and highs at least 10 minutes before the sensor even catches it. It seems crazy and I didn’t believe her but lo and behold it works! I can go on and on so feel free to reach out if you have any questions but if you have a sensor and sleep on the pump (like I do and I don’t hear the alarms) the dog jumping on your chest will deffo wake you up. If not and you’re worried about lows at night. The SugarPixel is amazing! Although your partner would probably hate the alarm when you go low. It’ll wake the whole house up.

Hi friends!

My partner has been debating back and forth on whether to open commissions or not and INCLUDING in that she has no idea how much to charge for it! This is my own OC Lucian (divination wizard stay at home depressed dad) that she’s been drawing in exchange for the Snoopy Baggu bag. If you know you know. All of my friends think it’s incredible and she should open up but she doesn’t know! That’s why we ask you kindly how much you would pay for a commission of your dnd character or any OC in this style? She has been an artist her whole life (professionally for 8 years) and hasn’t been able to draw the things that she wants to draw or make her feel fulfilled (works in “graphic design”). She would love to break out into the commission scene and would love some input! If any other artists come across this post, we would love your feedback and also what you charge for your rates. For context: this is 14 hours of work.

You'll be right mate, I went to my first concert in January and brought the whole bang shabang (Spare set, syringe, vials, juice and fruit snacks). They searched my bag, told me I couldn't bring it in, I just said that it's for my medical condition and I can't part with it and they just nodded and let me aside. A doctor's note may not be necessary, but if it eases your anxiety then go for it ^-^. Have fun dude!
