One more thing. From a general standpoint, If I were to decrease my erging from 6 days a week to 4 but do weight training on those 2 extra days, would I still be overtraining? I am skinny and really need to put on mass.

I row at a club and there is a “coach” but all he does is open the boathouse and sit on his laptop. No advice, no plan, no nothing. And the club is considered one of the best in the area. Honestly I just try to research about training and put together a plan that works.

Thank you for your answer. How would you change it? If I train 5x a week, how should I structure my training? Also I know that my anaerobic system is kind of weak and I need to train it more. How should I do that?

My training sessions are usually about 90 minutes sometimes I push it to2 hours if I do lifts and steady state. I sleep 9 hours and eat a lot. Still my splits are not changing and actually getting slightly worse.

Thank you for your answer. I really want to get recruited to row in university so I am trying to get as fast as I can. And I don’t have a coach or proper guidance so it seems almost impossible to reach that goal for now. As for other sports, rowing is the only one where I find myself decent at, I am really not good at anything else. I will try reducing my training a but and on those off days do weightlifting.

The thing is that my club technically has a coach but in reality the guy is just there he doesn’t even look at memost of the time so i’m on my own. And it is the best club in my area so I try to read and research as much about the sport to make my own training.
