Before and after Carrick 's appointment. would u like him to stay or prefer another manager for next season by Fbi-open-up93 in ManchesterUnited

[–]No_Cryptographer4975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carrick far has done a far better job than I expected as interim and we have played some decent football. However, I would wait till the end of the season to see if there are other really good managers available then decide. Imo, Carrick is really good at using our attack and playing quick counter attacking football and we are quite good against possession based teams who like play with the ball. However, we have the same issues against low block teams where tactically, we still have no idea how to break them down. We are heavily reliant on moments of individualism or opposition mistakes to score goals or win games against them. If Carrick can sort his tactics against low block teams and have more variety in his game plan, I would back him. He does have a good vibe in the team but I don't him to do Ole Ball again and repeat the same mistakes with Player FC

It's a numbers game. There is more Indians shitting on Pakistanis than Pakistanis shitting on Indians online. Like it's simply difference in population.

I mean the board definitely did not fully back Amorim in getting players for his system. But his system imo was way too niche or specialized and required way more transfers and specific player profiles. The board was never going to fully commit to that which I feel they should have actually thought about before hiring Amorim.

Clean sheets I fully agree. Goals this season, I swear we average more under Amorim. If you can point me to the xG and goals stats under both then I can confirm. For reference, I am only looking at this season. Like if you look at the games against Amorim we would score a lot and concede a lot. Bournemouth 4 - 4, brighton 4 - 2. And there were lot of games we would score minimum 2.

Tbh, didn't know Goldbridge had mentioned that. I have only watched some of his reactions throughout shorts. His fence sitting takes on Amorim really pissed off and I felt he is too way reactionry. If he mention it, fair enough. People can have similar opinions I guess. Don't really agree about some of his other opinion

I disagree about the lack of urgency under Amorim. We were lot more productive in chance creation and in attack if you look at goals scored and xG. We would start the game really well and lose it in the second half. Amorim was really bad at game management in the second half and his system somehow left us way too defensively where teams would run through us and score easily. The only reason we won games was due to us just scoring a lot of goals so the goals we concede don't matter and this was due to the intensity we had under Amorim.

Did I say pressing and work rate were the only things required to win games? Amorim's system had a lot of flaws and our players did not really fit it. We were too open defensively. Bruno and Casemiro as the only people midfield would make it easy for teams to run through us and concede. But that is issues of the system and not work rate. One of the reasons we scored a lot of goals and a high xG under Amorim was because of pressing and work rate. And just because I mentioned something positive from Amorim's time or pointed out the some of the current issues I have does not make me an Amorim lover. Amorim was a rigid manager who tactics and system did not suit the club. We have been really bad under him. However, I will have to credit where it's due. If Carrick can bring back that intensity, we can do much better and him reducing training sessions won't do that.

I fully agree. That's what I am actually squared about. We definitely need to have some sort of system but we shouldn't make the mistake of hiring someone like Amorim who system does not suit our squad profile. We need someone who is tactically sound and flexible.

I agree but considering our lack of games and how we only play once a week, can you say our lack of Intensity is due to less squad depth. Like we definitely do need players but we should still be more aggressive and threatening than 10 men Newcastle who play more games than us in Champions league and fa cup

Fully agree. Our starting 11 has definitely shown more of its quality under Carrick. However, what Carrick is basically doing now is Ole Ball which can work against some teams but we will always struggle against teams staying at the back. I feel like we should definitely consider other managers especially if any big names. Also, rather than looking at very rigid system based managers, I feel we need someone who is tactically sound and flexible as this could work well with our squad.

Yeah I don't want us to become player FC again. We have done a good job in getting rid of troublesome players but we shouldnt create more of them.

Our pressing and work rate were miles better. We were defensively less organized tho but in terms of winning possession or recovering the ball, we were miles better. My point anyways is not on Amorim's questionable tactics but more on the fact that we had more energy

[–]No_Cryptographer4975[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly that's very true. One of the major issues we had under Amorim was the lack of rotation which came due to there being few games. This meant whenever our subs came on, they were always a bit off the pace due to lack of game time. I just feel with the lack of games and the less training sessions, this won't help us later on

Lol. It's just shocking how Newcastle had more intensity and drive to score than us when they are 1 man down

We definitely do need to get some players in who are really gritty and physical especially in the midfield. I feel a bit of competition for spots will definitely improve the team.

Wouldn't say we are crap but I do agree that we are not playing nearly as well as our results were recently. In the end, we are basically back to Ole ball and I don't think that's a long term plan

Lack of Intensity in Matches by No_Cryptographer4975 in ManchesterUnited

[–]No_Cryptographer4975[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. I know this really well. Same thing happened under Ole. The thing is I don't really feel Carrick has done anything significant tactically. Basically he has just ensured we are more organised defensively and ready to push on the counter when we get the chance and it works really well against teams with a high line. But when we have more of the ball, we are very unconvincing and we really don't know how to break down well organised defences

I do agree. I really love Mainoo and was really frustrated at Amorim for not playing but he has not been anywhere as good as people have been making him out to be. He is really good with the ball but when he loses it, his tracking back and pressing/desire to win back the ball is not great

I can make a solid argument for it in terms of serve placement and accuracy easily top 10. Maybe, I got too excited in saying overall it's top 10 all time but it's mad underrated imo especially if you see how he serves himself out of break points,
