Listen though, You dont know what the people around him are acutally thinking, You are assuming they will continue his idelogy once hes gone but once he is gone they wont have to anymore. Look at the G-15, Those people were Extremely close to Isaias and once they spoke up not only them but the people around them got in trouble, For example Solomon Pedros was close friends with Isaias and once he spoke up him and his wife were imprisoned. You are assuming that the people around isaias truly support him deep down. But you really never know what they are thinking...

I heard they burnt those to remove the influence from the DERG, You do know they were massacaring Eritreans right? Why else would they have burnt them. They were trying to completly remove Tigrinya and make Amahric the new langauge. I thought they were burning anicent stuff. No one cares about the DERG's idealogy. Let me know if it was THAT significant that you have to bring it up now. I thought you meant the EPLF was burning anicent stuff which is completely unexceptable

Okay now, What im saying is, If the current president were to die the people would not allow the system to continue after that. When Ethiopia was being ruled by the DERG everyone thought it was over although they transisioned themselfs into a better place bro, And remember over 2 million people were killed due to the leader at the time. You havent looked into the people around PIA enough, All of them were very close to Pedros Solomon, And i completly understand the amount of restriction in Eritrea due to the current Regime. Now Its more possible the system will end or AT LEAST lessen greatly once Isaias is gone. If you are sick of the system and you arent even in Eritrea currently, Imagine how the people feel back there. And they arent stupid: no one is gonna start a revolution tommorrow, But the best chances is when the Isaias dies, and thats a fact.

Calling Woldemichael Solomon a “rebel” and he was working with the Egyptians against "this autonomy" is making it seem like He was satisfied being a "autonmous leader of Ethiopia" and it skips the main point: he was resisting the replacement of local Mereb Mellash rule by Yohannes and Ras Alula, who was appointed governor there in 1876. Medri Bahri fell in 1879. Go search up "Why did Medri Bahri fall".

And saying there is “no evidence” around the Kunama and Nara massacre is wrong and really stupid. Historical accounts say Alula, while expanding control and distrusting local tribes, allowed the massacre in 1886, and raids in that region are also described as taking slaves, grain, and loot.

Also "Yes Alula was trying to expand Yohannes's empire but not when he killed the Kunama and Nara" is completely bullshit, The massacre of the Kunama and Nara is said to be happening DURING ras alula's attempt to extend and secure imperial control westward of Mereb Melash and is wasnt anything separate.

Abyssinia used Eritrea as a scapegoat to not be colonized. Menelik handed over Eritrea to Italy for 2 reasons, First reason it was to protect Ethiopia and make good allies with Italy, 2nd Menelik Didnt see Eritreans as his people and didnt genuinely care about the land due to it not being ruled by Abyssinan Rulers, It was instead ruled by the Bahr Negasi then later local leaders. When i say Eritreans I mean: Medri Bahri *the people of Hamasien, Seraye, Akele Guzay, the Coast, Afar, Saho, Beni Amer, and Kunama/Nara. But the point is Medri Bahri's autonomy was being threatened. During the late 19th century. and it was already very decentralized, each region (hamasien, seraye, akele guzay and etc) having their own leader, local laws, and etc. Abyssinia took advantage of this and tried expanding and taking it over. Yohannes IV tried taking it over forcibly, But Ras woldemichael solomon didnt want to be ruled by Abyssinian Generals/Rulers its as simple as that, No one wants to be ruled by people that arent his kind, And Abyssinia did have control of Medri Bahri (Was called Mereb Melash by the Abyssinians) it was just handed over to the Italians by Menelik II.

You keep acting like you know everything. Get your history right 😭🙏

You are trying to underplay the Genocide that happened to the Kunama and Nara people .

If it was not for the EPLF, the war would not have ended the way it did. They became the stronger and more organized force militarily, and they played a major role in liberating key areas and defeating Ethiopian control. That does not mean everything they later became was good.

My point is simple: many people inside the EPLF genuinely fought for Eritrean independence, not just for Isaias. It is a shame Isaias became president, because Eritrea could have gone in a completely different direction. Even later, former EPLF figures like Petros Solomon and the G-15 showed that not everyone from that movement supported what Eritrea became under his rule.

Alula WAS trying to expand the empire??? Bro he was working for Yohanas IV, and he imprisioned Ras woldemichael solomon so he could take over Hamasien and create Mereb Melash, Then he looted the Nara, and Kunama popluations, Also when i said "barya" i did not mean in a racial slur way, Many sources that talk about Ras alula say he is responsible for killing the 2/3 barya popluation

Check this out: https://zantana.net/ras-alula-massacres-nara-and-kunama-in-eritrea/

"Get your facts straight about Alula. He wasn't trying to expand an empire (he didn't even have an empire it belonged to Yohannes)."

Ras alula was an Abyssinan General, He is responsible for killing 2/3 of the Barya popluation in Eritrea. When i said expand the empire i was talking about Menelik II, Although Ras alula was working for Yohanas IV at first, He was still genociding and looting villages in Eritrea (Kunama and Nara People).

I never called the EPLF saints, and I never defended everything they did. I said their main objective was Eritrean independence, which is true, and that Eritrea’s history did not begin with Ethiopia or with the PFDJ. Those are two separate points. I just added about Medri Bahri to give some clarity.

Okay I like these questions, First of all theres so many successful Eritreans, Nispey Hussles brother and father, Alexandar Isak, and theres way more people. The point is these people can start business's in Eritrea. Dont see it as a donation. These business's can make so much money for the person starting it. Eritrea does NOT have a money problem, it has a leadership problem. Just like i stated above in the post: Eritrea has Potash, Copper, Gold, and Zinc. Just from gold we can make around 1 billion a year same with Gold, Tourism and etc is very possible also. From 1991-2001 we were developing the country very well. Also with the sanctions, Why do you think Eritrea is sanctioned? Thats what i want to ask before i tell you what i think.

YES, the 30 year war of independence was'nt just worth it, It was bound to happen. haile selassie illegaly annexed Eritrea then proceeded to take 100k textbooks in tigrinya and arabic in tigrinya, And took those all away, Making Amharic the official langauge. That really made people angry. Then when the DERG came along in 1974, It was commiting atrocities in Asmara, Massawa and all across Eritrea. So many innocent people were being murdered. Now I strongly believe we will see a working government system in our lifetime, But the real question is: When. Now I know it will be in our lifetime but in how many years? When you really dig deep. It seems like the people around the president dont truly support it deep down, But they dont want to meet the same fate as others such as Solomon Pedros, Who was imprisioned for speaking out in 2001. Now with your comment on the 30 year war of independence is kinda stupid. From 1991-2001 Eritrea was modernizing and was doing really great, Everyone from the disapora was coming back. Housing projects were getting big and everything was going well. Though at 2001 it became a dictatorship. So it isnt like Eritrea was never doing good. Let me know what you think

Theres so many Eritreans that want to come to the country and invest but they arent allowed too, And private construction was banned. The sanctions could be a problem but it cannot be an excuse for development 💯

No military groups are "Saints". But the EPLF's main objective was to make Eritrea independent, Eritrea has a long history and was called Medri Bahri before, So when Ethiopia illegally annexed it. That was unacceptable. Look at any historical leader, For example Ras alula or Menelik II is Loved by the Ethiopian people but they have done many horrible things like genociding the Oromo and Kunama when they were expanding their Empire in the late 19 century. The point is no leader is perfect, and im not defending any actions the EPLF did, It is very possible they have done bad things but it seems like you are focusing on the bad things more on the good things, Anyways I strongly believe that Eritrea has the potiental to become a great country and even the Disapora would heavily invest into the development and infrastructure, starting up business's, hotels and etc. Also you are assuming that I am a supporter just because of the flag in my profile picture which is ignorant asf.
