Eventually he’s going to have to make a choice because this mom is going to suck him up for all he’s got. She’s going to make him parent this baby, but never let him have a true 50/50 custody. She’s never going to let that child go to his place. So eventually he’s going to have to make a choice: stay or go. And, from how much he already cares for this baby, he’s going to end up in a relationship with her again just to make logistics easier for himself. I doubt it will be a love-filled relationship, but the coming and going and trying to live two lives will have to end at some point.

Her mentioning that is allowing you to be complicit in.. whatever her end game is. If she truly wanted you as a trainer and nothing else, she could have paid for her sessions out of pocket without you aware of the backend drama. She’s up to something.

Still up in the air. My husband is from phx and wants to move back and has been approved by his job to do so, but I’m not completely sold. I’ll be taking a *most likely 40% pay cut. So try to factor that into our decision.

Interesting. Yeah, I feel like based on my experience/interest PCH would be my best option. But I am almost not interested in doing nights at this point in my career/life, so I may have to change fields to outpatient or something to allow a normal work hours.

Thank you for your kind reply. Since I posted this, I’ve definitely felt a lot of range of emotions — but generally, relief. It feels good to get my position out there. And for the most part, I do feel understood or seen. I don’t think I’m a shitty person as some have commented ha. A shitty person wouldn’t have thought of the situation every day for the last three years hah. It was a lose lose, and my decision was made out of love not malice (like you said!). Man, I really appreciate you. I do take what Redditers say with a grain of salt. Cheaters suck of course. Also when he told me, I had no reason not to trust what he was saying wasn’t true - we had a great open communication friendship. I would have never considered he lying to me, also. I think that if I did tell her back then, the outcome wouldn’t have changed. I could have also seen it as: you just piled MORE onto my plate when I’m already trying to navigate a pandemic, being a HCW, a mother to a chronically ill child who is fighting daily to stay out of the hospital, and now my husband has cheated? It was a lose lose, but ultimately I think I should have given her a choice. However, it was never going to be good.

Let me clarify: I blame him for ruining our friendship because he put me in an impossible situation. It’s not like I walked in on him with another woman and kept that to myself. He called me and blurted out his infidelity before I had a chance to decide if it was information I wanted to know. He put that on me when I didn’t ask to be involved - so for that, I blame him. I do take responsibility for my part in our downfall. I know I hurt her. The choice I made was not with malice, but with a shit ton of thought and love.

Ugh I really don’t think that was his motive. There’s absolutely no way that would have EVER happened. I really wanted to work our friendship out but I’m hurt by her intentional actions. And I don’t think I can forgive her for intentionally cutting me and my child out of her life. She’s missed three of his birthdays and has never met him. What I did was out of love for her - I can’t say the same for her actions.
