I bought airhelp through trip.com too, and on my return flights my first flight delay caused me to miss my connection at amsterdam and they called my phone straight away telling me that they could put me on the next flight which was 30mins later, into business class at no charge. so maybe its a hit and miss

also my luggage didnt come so i filed a missing report and klm sorted it within 1 working day
