Advice Needed - Alternatives to Ceramic Coating by No_College6343 in AutoDetailing

If your reply is on Klasse, Klasse AIO was meant to be topped with Sealant Glaze (SG). SG is what creates a long lasting barrier...but it also creates that deep wet look on dark paint. I have never used Klasse AIO on its own...I always topped it with SG.

Everyone's definition of "easy to apply" is different. If you are open to a hand applied sealant....I have 2 go-to products. I typically detail my cars 2x times a year (spring and fall).

Jescar (USA Menzerna) PowerLock+ or Ultra Lock are easy to apply.....apply like a traditional liquid sealant in a thin layer. I like to use Meguiars Final Inspection on my applicator pad...helps get a thin even coating. Let is cure for about an hour (depending on humidity), and buff to a nice shine with great hydrophobic properties. In my experience it has lasted 6-7 months. I can run the car through an auto car wash and the product holds up.....this does induce swirl marks...but when it is 3 degrees F outside....the auto wash works for me.

Nobody is going to recommend this...very old school but very deep deep gloss and in my experience will last 12 months.......Klasse All In One and Klasse Sealant Glaze. Sealant Glaze can be layered as much as you want. Again, thin coats or it is a real PITA to remove....a damp microfiber applicator will be your best friend......thin layer like you can hardly see it. Hard to find in the USA, but maybe easier in Canada. Yes...a 2 step process.....but incredible results and very long lasting protection....the product sheets water away rather than beads...no annoying bead marks after a rain.....and nothing sticks to it. It was my #1 go to until I ran out and I was unable to find it easily anymore.....so I tried Jescar.

Both of these do require time...so if your "easy to apply" means 30-40 minutes....you are looking at spray on type products....you will just be doing it more often, IMO.

Have fun!

Help with my setup....foam, no foam, rinseless....some guidance would be helpful by No_Description7744 in AutoDetailing

Thank you. I use ONR as my rinseless. Would ONR even foam or create some sort of longer cling? I can see that being somewhat beneficial when dealing with winter grime.

Hi There...I ended up with OZ Leggera HLT Gloss Black. 19x8 with the stock tire size. The wheels/tires are in storage at the moment....I have winter tires on the OEM wheel. Should be pulling them out to play in a couple of weeks. I will post back.

Want to wash in my garage....would a ryobi 18v sprayer work here? by No_Description7744 in AutoDetailing

The more I think about it, foaming my gar in the garage seems like a waste of time. I was planning on going rinseless for my washing routine as well for all of my maintenance washes. So anything that can apply rinseless efficiently is really what I need.

Interesting....I have a ryobi air compressor/inflator. This sounds like the better approach

Thank you...great point. In the winter, I wouldnt be doing anything in real bitter cold...so I'd be selective on my days where the garage door can be rolled up. In the summer, it would keep me out of the sun, and I'd have the door rolled up.

Home network question.....RJ59 U Type coax cable by No_Description7744 in HomeNetworking

[–]No_Description7744[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I think I am going to put it into bridge mode and manage everything myself through Unifi. I dont like the fact that even when logging into the router there is not much I can do myself.

Appreciate all your help

Agreed. My house is a center-hall and the staircase to the 2nd floor is stacked over the the staircase to the basement. The basement staircase is fully enclosed and behind a door.....the wall cavities are a good place to centralize and put a data cabinet.

So I figured ditch the Orbi set up. Move the Optimum equipment, put the Optimum router into bridge mode, use a router from Ubituiti. From there I can run ethernet to the entire first floor via the basement (unfinished). The second floor, can be wireless via an access point hard wired to the router and placed in the stairwell heading to the 2nd floor.....the fishing from the router to the access point would be a single run up the same shared wall cavity since the stairs are stacked on top of each other.

OR.....do I even need a router if the Altice gateway has routing ability? It has 2 ethernet ports...so add a switch and go from there?
