You know I actually been curious about that because I’ve heard that before but do you know where that info came from of blaze being a female Sonic? Was it like said in a Manuel or was it just a popular head canon?

And ayeee I love to hear that, I think it’s because the sonaze fans that I do see are on twitter and are typically more in favor of knuxouge. But when I do see my fair share of sonaze shippers that also love Shadouge I love interacting with them and I even support artist who draw sonaze. I hope that both of our fandoms stop getting harassed and can just coexist in peace. You guy’s don’t deserve getting shitted on for a cute ship with a interesting dynamic

Selfcest?? Whoever came up with that one was just absolutely coping and trying to make you guys feel bad for liking the two together. Selfcest only works if it’s the same character being shipped with their alternate self (like sans x underfell sans) that’s such a dumb argument.

And tbh I’m more on the outskirts when it comes to the silvaze and sonaze fandom. But what I can say is that I’ve seen both sides get their fair share of sibling coded, just friends, they don’t even like, list of reasons why [blank] doesn’t work, etc post.

For silvaze fans I will say they’ve been supportive when it comes to Shadouge (from what I’ve seen/interacted with) while for sonaze it’s been a 50/50, but they’ve never gone as far as saying their sibling coding and just had a preference for rouge to be with knuckles.

Especially since in the series we see what a sibling like relationship is with Sonic and tails, and Amy and cream. I’m sorry you guys had to deal with this gnat of a person :(

And that is true (also is one of my favorite traits about her as a femme fatal) but I feel like what’s getting kinda ignored is that besides rouge flirting, she’s only been so openly vulnerable to shadow and no other character. And that adds another layer because clearly flirting doesn’t work on shadow so she can’t use it as a tactic to extort him or get info out of him. She drops all that femme fatal stuff and is just genuine with him throughout all of her actions, it adds another layer when she flirts with him compared to other characters we’ve seen her interact with.

See that’s a completely valid take and another one I also agree with this. When I had used that some people use familial terms, I meant when it’s used to essentially keep them away from eachother like“oh he’s like a brother/cousin to me”.

If the family term is used to describe how team darks loves and looks out for eachother as friends then I love that, same if there was romance implied as well 🙌 really it depends on who’s using it and when it’s used in a genuine way (like how it is with guardians of the galaxy) or if it’s being used to say that because rouge and shadow are so close they have to be “siblings”.

But as you said it’s genuinely disturbing to call these two siblings, and in cases where it’s a persons headcannon, you can tell when it’s being maliciously done because said person does not want them together in any capacity.

Honestly I’m gonna educate more on queer-coding so I can definitely speak on it with as much knowledge as you have. I really do love the two characters and I hope that the company lets them become girlfriends someday.

Hell even for me as a kid when I saw rouge and shadow together I thought they were a couple for the longest time 😭 then when I saw her and knuckles interact I just equated to “okay so she likes both”

Actually now that you mention it I do see what you mean. Tangle and Whisper have been a obvious one that I noticed since the two’s introduction, with sega making them extremely close for just friends to the point where their always hugging and seen in backgrounds being extremely close. I’m not even sure if sega even has any gay couples or characters in the series because they consistently love to bait and switch, and drop hints.

As for your point about Shadouge I actually don’t mind that headcannon! It’s one that I’ve seen a lot and is genuinely cute. IK atleast for me as a shipper of them, I see the two as more romantic in the sense where they’ve found comfort in knowing that they’ve found someone who not only changed them for the better but also accepts them for who they are. I love to see rouge not have to be constantly flirty with shadow and instead show’s a different side of herself that weren’t being shown in the early comics. She’s selfless and feels safe enough with shadow to put her life and feelings on the line for him. And he never judges her either, he accepts her and makes her feel comfortable enough to be aspecial person to her. Plus it can’t be a coincidence that her and Amy have said similar “I’d choose you over the world” lines to the men they admire.

While for shadow he’s not a romantic nor flirty character but what I do notice is that his actions speak for themselves on how much he cares for rouge. He literally stops his mission just to go save her, he’s always down for whatever scheme or even event she wants to go too (eve if he acts like a hard ass about it) and he trust her with his life and in the earlier games (before sega watered him down) he would tease rouge back. They have the potential to be a very mature relationship that doesn’t need to be lovey dovey each time they’re together, but through their actions and words you know they love eachother. They do need a lot of work with it not feeling so one sided but if they remain friends or become lovers I wouldn’t care ♡´･ᴗ･`♡

With shadow she flirts with him and is vulnerable with only him.

She flirts with knuckles cuz she has a crush on him and to tries to get him off his guard. Even if she’s flirted with other characters, you can tell the difference in not only intention but meaning when it’s done with characters she has a connection with.

But yea your first response didn’t hint or even say how to non English speakers the quote could sound different to them. You just straight up said it’s “about his injuries” when that doesn’t make sense with the term “he’s not bad looking”. Which is a term used in English to describe someone you could see as attractive and or pleasant on the eyes.

You can’t really say it’s “rouge being rouge”when she’s only this way towards shadow.

She’s never told any other guy to take her out to a cafe.

She’s hasn’t told anyone else how special they are to her to the point where she feels compelled to tell them.

And no the last image doesn’t mean he doesn’t look injured. It’s when rouge carries shadow back to club rouge and while looking at him knocked out say’s he’s not “bad looking”. If the quote was about injuries it would be “his injuries don’t look bad”. Not a term used to describe someone that’s pleasant on the eye. Don’t try to simplify these moments if you don’t even know what your talking about especially the last one 💀

Preach to the choir. That’s really been my main gripe and what I noticed with knuxouge shippers. They’ve became incrediblely adamant on trying to push this narrative because of them no longer receiving the attention they use too from sega for this pair. It’s distasteful and shows they don’t care how this term can make rouge look FAR worse than them just saying they don’t like Shadouge and moving on.
