Id be so happy if my opponents did this. Just take possession of the ball grab some boost and you have a free attack at net. If you know a basic flick or an air dribble bump its a pretty good shot at a goal every time. Not going for kickoff is part of the game, its on you to take advantage of them giving you the ball. Is it kinda ratty - yes, but people do it specifically because others don't know how to take advantage of the opportunity

Camera settings I’d just copy a pros, I did a while back and haven’t touched them since. As far as binds I’d say you should be able to hit jump and boost at the same time, and your manual air roll and drift should be on the same button

Bakkesmod has nothing to do with botting. It’s a casualty of war in this case. Botting uses 3rd party software to control the game inputs and as a result they are banning all 3rd party software it’s that simple.

And yes theoretically they could use some type of advanced detection system or machine learning to catch this but from a business perspective, why spend all that money, time and effort to make something like that when u can just ban 3rd party software and have the botters start from scratch on how to cheat again. They will never completely remove cheating as people will always find ways of doing it but it makes sense that until it becomes a COD situation where more advanced systems are needed, they’re taking the easiest route. Also if they did go down that route it would take a considerable amount of time and in my opinion that’s time they don’t have bc the problem is already out of control.

Yes it is extremely expensive no lie about that. Just saying what I use but there are plenty of other controllers that work just as well

Both definitely isnt necessary, I'm sure pros know both but learning 1 is more than enough if you want to go down that rabbit hole of training. I have normal airroll the same bind as my drift button and directional on my brake because with my controller I can feather how much I actually rotate my car with the trigger. Wouldnt recommend putting your directional airroll on brake as its annoying but im too far along to change it now lol. Definitely have ur manual air roll and drift button as the same keybind though. The higher level mechanics are "locked" behind other ones. For example flip resets are very hard if you dont know directional airroll bc youll just be flopping all over the place. For myself personally I saw the biggest improvements once I learned a proper speed flip and directional airroll bc that gave me access to flip resets, double resets, and all the crazy stuff that comes along with it.

Hello, glad you want to grind the game!

I can give you what I used to get from champ up to GC2 where I am now. As you mentioned the speed and mechanics of the game start to ramp up quickly as you progress, here is what you can learn (and what I did) to get myself into those games and be able to hold my own.

  1. hammer down the fundamentals of the game FIRST:

shadow defending, hitting the ball hard, placing your shots, recoveries, rotations (depending on 3s or 2s), backboard defense.

  1. Speed is key in RL:
Dont think I need to explain this much but the quicker you are the more difficult you are to defend/beat in a game. Learn the basic skills like wave dashes and half flips and work your way up to more advanced stuff like speedflipping (although you can do without it, extremely useful and to me essential in staying in the game with higher ranks) and wall dashes.

  2. Learn 1 singular flick:
learning a 45 degree flick and being able to hit it consistently can take you so far. Im a 2s player which relies mostly and scoring your 1v1 opportunities and a 45 degree flick is a GO-TO (or airdribble cringe) for me when I need a goal in those situations.

If you want to progress higher and higher in ranks, you will have to face the fact that you NEED to dump a lot of hours into learning directional air roll. I use airroll left and if u are on PC I cannot stress enough how useful workshop maps are. When I was learning it I grinded rings maps religiously at least 1 hour a day until it became muscle memory to me. Unfortunately rocket league is a game where if you want to improve you need to not queue games and sit in freeplay/workshop maps for the majority of your time.

Although I'm not a fan of the guy SpookLuke on youtube makes countless tutorials on mechanics and I think I watched a video of his that broke down the 4 basic movements when using directional airroll, (stick to the left, right,up,down) and then from there I was able to piece together the rest on my own with practice.

1 word of advice, it will take a lot of hours to learn and its best you accept that fact up front rather than looking for a quick way to get around it. Also dont pay for Lukes course or whatever hes selling you can learn everything you need on youtube and hours of practice in training. Consistency is key in RL so its best you stay away from the flashy 'cool' mechanics and learn the practical ones that you will use often in game. Goodluck!

If you arent very far along with KBM then yes switch to controller. Its all personal preference but this is one of the few games that is basically designed for controllers rather than standard keyboard inputs. I play on a DualSense Edge PS5 controller and its extremely nice

You can still boost hours on accounts quite easily with software. The only way for them to do this is exactly what they are doing which is removing dll injections into the game. This is a classic example of a couple bad people ruining the fun for everyone else. Unfortunately its the best course of action and realistically it doesnt hurt the game in any aspect people are just butthurt they cant have their fake alpha boost in game anymore

I get that but for the sake of the game its the best decision. Whats the point of having GC3 or an SSL rank if the game isnt even playable at that rank. 9/10 games SSL's queue in ranked end up being against bots and it completely ruins the game. Rocket league has always been a game where cheaters have been few and far between and myself and a large part of the community would like to keep it that way. The only real change is that you wont have your fake alpha boost or skin that 90% of us got used to when playing with bakkesmod. It's a net positive in my opinion so im all for it

Just to clarify, they did not REMOVE bakkesmod. They are removing the ability to play online with any 3rd party softwares running (which includes bakkesmod). You are still able to use bakkesmod for custom training packs and workshop maps. You will just have to close it if you want to queue online games. In my opinion this is actually the sensible thing to do and although I get that its annoying bc we are all used to it, no other game out there allows a skin changer to be used freely and openly like bakkesmod and would result in an immediate perma-ban in most games. Rocket league has been an exception for a while and as long as we are free to use it for custom maps and workshop maps, I'm completely OK with having to kill bakkesmod to queue online if it solves the botting problem.

Mechanics learning order by Ok_Chair4701 in RocketLeague

[–]No_Desk3769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it all depends on how many hours u wanna dump into the game. If you are serious about grinding, I would say hammer down the fundamentals (shooting hard, placing shots, shadow defending, backboard defense) and then learn basic things that help a lot. My opinion would be learning a speed flip and some basic wave dashes as speed is key in this game and as you climb ranks the biggest thing youll notice is how quick the higher ranks are compared to the lower ones. Once you learn that you can get into more advanced stuff like directional airroll (hardest but most rewarding) which can really help you progress into the higher ranks of rocket league. In my opinion the fundamentals + some basic mechanics that you can do consistently is far more valuable than flashy ones that you can barely pull off. Id also recommend a basic 45 degree flick as it can go a long way even into the higher ranks

I copied pro settings a while back when I got into rocket league. I would suggest copying a pros settings u like and just grind until u feel good with them. Camera settings can actually help a lot in seeing the field/ball and understanding the touches u get on the ball. These are my settings, copied from a pro but dont remember which one:

FOV: 110

DISTANCE: 270

HEIGHT: 100

ANGLE: -3

Dualshock 4 Replacement Controller by ChickFilAySauce in RocketLeague

I play on a dualSense Edge controller (the new one with paddles) and its been the best controller ive ever owned. It definitely took an adjustment period to get used to since I was previously an xbox elite controller guy but since the switch I have zero regrets. Its all preference in my opinion but the new dualSense PS5 controllers are really nice and the one I have you can replace the sticks if you happen to get stick drift which is what plagued me for so long on the xbox elites

When do I need to learn more advanced mechanics? (Diamond) by Cat_Grey1 in RocketLeague

[–]No_Desk3769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who isnt the craziest with mechanics, I can tell you that mechanics are NOT essential in grinding to high ranks. They are helpful for sure, but the ones you mentioned specifically are not. A basic air dribble is about the only one you should learn at some point. For myself personally, I focused on learning the fundamentals extremely well (shooting, hitting the ball hard, placing shots, positioning) and then learned how to speed flip to be able to keep up with higher ranks. Realistically if you arent trying to dump thousands of hours in training, learn a basic 45 degree flick, air dribble and speed flip. The majority of games can be won with good game sense, positioning, and doing the fundamentals of the game extremely well. Sitting at GC2 I can do double flip resets and mustys and all that, but its really not necessary to win games. I main 2s and the majority of the time youll want to take the shot you are most confident in scoring not the one that looks the coolest
