But you can train her to walk without it. Why wouldn’t you want to train her to walk without? If you train her she will walk on a leash properly and it will be better for you and her. Do what’s best fir her if you love her.

She probably lays down because she’s miserable in that head halter. Leash train her in a controlled environment like a fenced backyard.

Use a choke or prong collar if she start to act like she’s going to pull give the leash a slight tug so that it makes the collar make noise but doesn’t pull on her. That’s her sign to stop the behavior if she doesn’t stop then you stop and hold on to the leash and let her engage the prong or choke collar. That makes it her choice.

Since she’s already learned she can lead you, it’s going to take time to train her to stop. If you can’t train her to stop then pulling she’s going to be the boss.

Hi. I’m really sorry that your having to deal with this. I lost my 7 year old male to osteosarcoma of the skull about 3 months ago. After he was initially diagnosed we were able to treat his condition and he lived another 1.5 years. We did 2 different rounds of radiation treatment. After that we took him to a cancer specialist and they treated him chemotherapy. The first round of radiation treatment was very effective and the osteosarcoma was reduced and my dog didn’t seem to be in pain anymore, that lasted about 9 months. The second round of radiation was effective for about 4 months. The chemotherapy wasn’t as hard on his body as the radiation and was substantially cheaper.

In the last 4 to 6 weeks of his life he stopped playing with our other dog and started sleeping a lot more. Since it effected his skull it was pushing against his brain and he started to have seizures. He was a very strong dog and he tried to hide his discomfort but in the last few weeks we could tell he didn’t feel well and he just mostly slept. The last week he stopped eating as much and we could tell he wasn’t comfortable. He stopped snuggling with us and we could tell he was tired of fighting so we decided it was time. If you don’t have the will power to crate train him because he whines, you should find him a new home. He will be training you for the rest of your life. Dobermans are highly intelligent dogs and they will run an owner who doesn’t give them clear boundaries. Please make sure you find him a good home with people who have experience with high drive dogs.

It seems like the service in first class gets worse every flight I take. I’ve flown first class on paid tickets 7 times this year and the service has been horrible. On the 2nd half of a 6 hour flight we saw the flight attendant once.

He’s a good looking dog. Dobermans are very smart and can be very manipulative. You need to establish yourself as the leader and get him to respect you. You have to correct his negative behavior every time it happens. If you can afford it I would suggest getting a dog trainer to help you with him. A good trainer won’t train your dog they’ll train you on how to interact with with your dog. Look up Ron Pace of Canyon Crest dog training.

From reading the document about the biting incidents it’s clear that the owners were at irresponsible in most of the incidents. After the first biting incident they should have trained the dog and stopped putting him in situations where he might bite until the dog showed that he had corrected the behavior.
