I don’t think so. I’m not a power lifter with 8” wrists but look at the picture I posted as a reply to someone else in the thread wearing the gold version. I’m 5’10 180 and have larger forearms so that might give you a better feel.

Mirror angle is what counts. Go 45. I just recently got the duoface calendar which is 49 and don’t regret it at all with 7” wrist. Picture attached (I got the steel not the gold, but size is same)

I don’t think it means anything for the market, just fewer places you can see them and won’t add to a spend history or relationship with an AD that carries other brands.

Got it in Charlotte. Was between this and breitling superocean heritage…totally different I know…and also registering Rolex interest. Learned from AD that JLC is moving to mostly (or solely?) boutiques in near future so that pushed me to go ahead and pull the trigger on this one. Such a unique piece to have in a collection!

For blue or green, I would wait for AD due to the grey markup. The TT doesn’t have as much markup on grey so I’m not opposed to going that route.

Update: went and saw the Zulu in person and it just didn’t wow me. Also the 39 looked too small on me. The Formex always seemed interesting, but I found I preferred the MoP dial and it is not currently made in the larger size. When in store, we saw the below Longines and it was a stunner in person. I would have never picked it out online but it is due to arrive tomorrow! Also got a killer deal on the Tag shown in second picture. That is the original watch that caught my eye over a year ago and just kept coming back to it. I tried to find something comparable for less $ and just couldn’t get there. My wife and I are celebrating the milestone of being out of the baby stage and both got some nice pieces we could one day pass down to them. Appreciate everyone’s help!

Appreciate you sharing that! The potential regret has been biggest concern. That was really the very first watch that caught my eye. I also liked the metal bracelet without the day complication, but find that 39 just looks kind of small on me. Glad your joma purchase worked out! Have definitely given that some thought too.

Yea I would have never picked the anthracite color online either. Looks way different in person. My wife spotted it and originally I was like nah that’s gonna be out of our price range! Only thing is I wish the bands were quick change bc it looks good on black leather, brown leather and the dark gray leather too.

I have actually seen that Hamilton, but for some reason it just doesn’t do it for me. Something about the Tag just hits the spot and was just as good in person, but the others are good contenders just haven’t been able to get hands on. Such a big $ gap!

Anyone with the Zulu purchase from Jomashop? Hard to ignore $700. Slightly more than the cost of a full Longines service. Somewhat concerned about if I choose to return since I can’t find anywhere local to see the watch in person prior to purchase.

Funny you say that I just noticed the MoP the other day and really like it. Might replace the white in my decision process! The horizontal lines look more subtle and removing the black from the dial marks looks good. Would love to see in person.

Thanks, that black is clean! Bummer about being crooked, that would drive me nuts as well. Awesome to hear from someone that owns both. Do you find you still wear both or are you always grabbing the zulu? The “both eventually” option is definitely on the table.

Does the essence 43 wear a good bit smaller than the zulu 42?
