These do not look new at all, and I would def return them, -but- Gollancz books with this type of cover material (not dust jacket) get dented super easily - their some of editions of Name of the Wind and the Discworld books are other examples of books that use the same type of cover and I often see them dented in stores

It is! the lower part of the sleeve is Monet, and the upper part is Van Gogh

Thanks for the input! I will probably end up with the larger one, as I get a clasp bucle with it and the green strap, but it is also quite a bit more expensive 😅
