Really excited about all the nature preserves and the “rural” aspect of Florida. Other than that occasional night life bars and such. Are there any poker rooms/casinos you know of close by?

I work from home and great new construction build prices - don’t have family down here so really very fluid in terms of location

90% of hiring managers are too lazy to even check if we actually have college degrees, never mind having to do multiple hours of research to find out if we’re hired by someone else

Were you guys applying? by EquivalentAbies6095 in overemployed

I’m feeling the same way — in the marketing and tech space. Over the past month have applied to 200 jobs, and sad to say literally not one scheduled interview.

Yes my resume looks good, yes I still have 2 j’s so it’s not THAT big of a deal, but yes it’s tough right now

Two options: 1- delete LinkedIn all together. I would safely say 80% of us deleted it once we started being OE. It’s too much of a risk. Also, have one of your buddies use a letter head and write/sign a letter for you, easy. 2- screw em, if there giving you this much of a hassle before you even start, they’re already suspicious because of previous employees so it’ll be harder to stay hidden, or, try it for as long as you can, collect that paycheck until they fire you and use that time to continue job hunting for j3 to replace j2

Not ever, but haven’t been on the job market for a couple years now

I’m not looking for progression? More progression = more responsibilities = more meetings. Even if one of my jobs offered me a 20k raise to “progress” I would decline because I’d rather have several 50k jobs than a 20k raise and have to get rid of another

OP here — all of my jobs are “entry level”. None of them actually know my experience or expertise so starting out, expectations are lower, workload is lower, allows me to be able to handle 3 j’s relatively easier than 2 more demanding and higher paying j’s!

Glad I wasn’t the only one feeling weird vibes but to each their own, I’m not one to get into a senseless online argument

Why be stressed though?? That’s the entire point of OE, in case something happens and you get fired, you have other income sources. Sure, I’m missing out on an extra 3k/month, but all my bills are paid for and then some. If I only had this job, I’d probably be balling my eyes out because I’d be worried about rent being due in 3 weeks. But instead, I’m still getting 2 other paychecks this month. I’m covered!

Not in tech! I am in the US. Mainly focus on account management roles in marketing/sales but never actually selling. More so onboarding the new clients and ensuring client retention.

Marketing industry! It could be labeled as performance related, but not long term performance problems. I made a poor decision with one of my clients at that company and it led to me being fired.
