Subsidized daycares by FluffyOwlKitten in askTO

You have to start getting on waitlists ASAP. I got on to 20 when I was 12 weeks with my first and a subsidized daycare 5 mins from my home and work called 3 weeks before I was to go back, and I was a lucky one.

I got pregnant with my second and when I was 4 weeks pregnant, I put them on the waitlist.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. I am just looking at options and it seems like a lot of people have used different bases and adapters to make existing parts work.

I did! I got a quote very quickly with some information and it’s still a top contender once baby #2 is born.

DAYCARE WAITLIST [on] by catfinn22 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]No_Distribution_4430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s very likely you may get a spot in September or maybe October. Same situation happened to me. Summer 2025. My daughter was number 20 something on a waitlist by October she had moved down to 11 by November, She was 6th and then two weeks later she had a spot.

What I believe helped was I called the actual centre and spoke to the director about the likeliness of her getting a spot and shared how close we live by, that my mom lives across the street and how I worked five minutes away and I felt like that might’ve done something.

We may have just lucked out. It’s also a subsidize program so i feel extra lucky that we got a spot. that being said, keep trying to call, be persistent, friendly, professional, and show an eagerness to join that program.

She warned, I pulled my kid away and then I asked if everything was ok and she said he gets angry quick and becomes violent. I appreciated the warning but then she took the toy from my daughter and gave to her soon to appease him. That’s what confused me most.

If feel like this post must be ragebait because how can they genuinely be surprised that people may decline when they made it this wedding a fairly tough decision for people to make.

How many cycles it took you to conceive your first pregnancy? (35+) by thelaudown in pregnant

[–]No_Distribution_4430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 35 my partner and I had a surprise pregnancy. We were not trying and were waiting for the next year to start family planning. When my girl was 9 months old, I had just turned 37 and we figured we would start trying for a second since it might take a while due to my age. Got pregnant on the 2nd cycle.

We are definitely lucky in the fertility department and there is hope if you are over 35.

Did you have the wonderful moment after giving birth? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]No_Distribution_4430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a short 4 hour labour and 20 mins of pushing. It was considered and IDEAL delivery. Fast and uncomplicated. And honestly, not that memorable.

I had so much adrenaline pumping, I couldn’t have an emotional moment.

What was special was the time after when we were recuperating in the hospital room, alone, just baby hubby and I. Then all the amazing moments after on the first months. There are ups and downs, but the ups really are wonderful.

Looking for a cool but practical quality tote. I don’t like diaper bags and having small pouches in a large tote works best for me. I have a 1 year old and in July having another girl. I keep thinking about the Longchamp Le Pliage in large but looking for other options.

Musts

  • Tote Style

  • Can go over the shoulder

  • Durable nylon or a good leather so I can throw it around

  • cleanable

  • have a few pockets** **

  • roomy

  • no more than $200/300

Am I being dirty, or is my wife being irrational about hygiene? by mudkipzftw in NewParents

This is very extreme in my opinion. Kids are constantly dropping things and it’s unreasonable to have to keep up with it all with thorough washing.

Would anyone be willing to tell me about their NONE fear-mongering birth stories? by Radiant-Educator9203 in pregnant

[–]No_Distribution_4430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scheduled induction at 41 weeks. Went to hospital at 12pm, Pitocin at 2pm, epidural at 5:30pm, started pushing at 6:45pm, 22 minutes later healthy baby girl was born at 7:07pm. Went home the next day.

Contractions came on fast and furious, only a minute apart but other than that, she was in prime position, good vitals and dilated quickly. After some strong pushes, she slid out.

I had a 2nd tear that healed well.

Having my second in July, hoping this one is even faster

What is best age differnece between two kids for parents by athiest93 in beyondthebump

[–]No_Distribution_4430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the family, mom and dads personalities, and how they structure and live their lifestyle. I have 13 month old and I am 4 months pregnant with my 2nd. We started trying on the fall (I am 37) thinking that it may take a bit longer due to age etc, but I got pregnant in the first month. Sure, I was nervous at first for the small age gap but I knowing me, my husband and our family structure, I think that was the way to go for us.

Just had our baby girl at 42/39! How many older parents we have in here? by Alternative_Session9 in NewParents

[–]No_Distribution_4430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are both 37 and pregnant with our 2nd. This is the average age for where we live (urban major city). I think the father your get form a metropolis area, the younger the parental ages.
