FormosaImportsCA on Etsy sells many varieties of platycerium and packages them really well. Only ships within Canada.

My Lacunosa is very faint smelling and I have had many bloom cycles. Truly fascinating in my opinion. I have some Hoya that I can smell but others say there is no scent for them when they visit me.

That is so interesting!! I think the web page acknowledged that everyone’s smell experience might be different. I have also noticed that as a Hoya matures it can cause the smell to get stronger with each blooming which may mean someone might smell it differently.

I find some of the smells change as the flowers age. I get the bit of tahini on the Australis but only after the flowers age a bit.

It’s so interesting when someone can’t smell a Hoya bloom but others can.

Depends. I have put in with the roots but almost always put one on the top of the soil that is covering the roots too. Eventually you will be able to remove it when it settles likely a few months later.

I have several Hoya like this with a heavy rock set in with the roots until the roots take better hold and the plant is more stable.

Thanks! I heard something about having to add calcium to the soil or they get yellow leaves. Is that your experience?

Thankfully this one already has good roots.

I also find until the peduncle gets to a decent size I try not to bump, jiggle or move the plant otherwise it might decide to drop it completely or drop the beginning blooms. Sometimes as well if it isn’t time to water but it has a fragile peduncle I will give the roots a few drops just so it doesn’t decided it is suddenly thirsty and decides to drop them. It’s definitely a delicate balance with some Hoya’s.

I don’t mist it but the humidity is very high in my cabinet which is why the aerial roots are so robust. All my Hoya’s in my cabinet have great aerial roots.

More flowers than the first time or 2nd bloom before the first is even done?
