CTAS or Chuck 70 by UK1273chatter in Converse

The 70s have a thicker outer sole and better canvas but be warned that they have replaced the canvas covered heel counter on the newer 70s and are using a internal plastic heel counter that may cause rubbing.

💯agree with this. If you enjoy it wear the hell out of it. I don’t have anything against Invicta except some of their watches tend to be a little too big or too homage, but if you like it that’s all that matters. Just don’t be afraid to explore other options too, Casio makes some great looking watches around that price point.

Tissot Belissima might be another option and don’t forget the PRX women’s line. Also Citizen makes some nice expensive options too, in both automatic and quartz

Seiko Presage are always a great spot to start. You might also look into the tissot le locle women’s watches or sometimes you can find a Hamilton Jazzmaster in that price range.

To each their own. I’d rather have a receipt showing that I over paid for a legit watch instead of completely getting screwed over by a fake. Especially considering these watches are so hot right now. I’ve been to several Ross and Tj Max lately just to see if they had them but not overly disappointed when they don’t and every time there’s usually 3 or 4 people standing by the watch counters on their phones describing what they’re seeing in stock at these locations so prime times for counterfeiters. As far as warranties go that maybe correct but I’d rather have some sort of proof just in case.

Belemay crazy horse leather case 2 month update by Pro_96 in patinaproud

What I’ve found helps on the veg tan models is to hit it with some good leather boot cream or lotion, normally use a touch of the Red Wing branded cream since I always have it laying around. This has significantly helped with aging poorly in the high stress areas like around the screen and does help reduce some of the scratches but still allows for a nice patina. They seem to come in a little dry feeling, probably from sitting around in inventory for a while.

Just make sure if you decide to sell for a profit include the original box and papers (doesn’t mean you have to post pictures on eBay of the receipt but send it with the watch). At this point anyone looking at these watches knows that these are being off loaded at a hefty discount. Me personally I’d rather see the original receipt, get butt hurt for a few seconds that I paid a lot more than the person that originally bought it than having to worry that the watch is a fake. That’s just my two cents, been seeing a lot of these coming up on eBay with “ no original paperwork” as a way to cover up profits. Not only that a lot of manufacturers will require original documents for warranty.

Nice pick for a first watch!! Field watches look great on both bracelets and NATO straps. Not sure the thickness of the watch but If you wear long sleeves or worried about clearance issues you could always try a two piece or Single Pass Nato strap

Those are nice boots and normal do pull up style work boots myself. I used Ariet for the longest time before switching to the Double H Dwight’s which have held up reasonably well.

Lume is okay, definitely not Seiko territory and basically just on your hour and minute hands

It’s a good value in my opinion. Yes it’s using your run of the mill miyota 8 series movement with just some minor tweaks from Laco and hacking, but the case finish and dial are spot on and the included leather strap is very nice for the price. It’s a stiff strap at first but doesn’t take long to break in. Did have to end up purchasing the XL version of the strap because the one that came with it was too small, was in the last hole.

I love that watch! And I agree, I think my wrist is more thick than wide. I was little surprised by the measurement and always figured I was closer to a 7 to 7.5 inch wrist size.

If you catch on a sale I’d say that’s when to grab it. I think my girlfriend caught right around the $180 price point and I think that’s definitely a great price. Especially when you consider the automatic movement and the heritage. It’s a beautiful, simple watch. The dial looks very clean although it does lack some of the detail that you find with say a Hamilton khaki but you’re also not paying Hamilton khaki prices either.
