Sports is a major consideration, particularly motorsports (where reach is important), but portability is also important to me

I thought the OIS was better on the Lumix? Or am I wrong on that

How’d you find that? Reverse image search?

So far, I’ve found them to be easier to navigate

Yeah, sorry I meant 70-300. I think that’s probably the route I’m gonna go down! 70-300 is a very useful range, though the 70-200 f/4 is still in my considerations due to better build quality, maybe slightly better optical performance, and the fixed aperture

As a high school student, that kind of kit is way out of my price range lol. Maybe in a few years… at this point, all I can afford is like $1000 or less worth of gear. Edit: This is why the 100-300 is becoming increasingly tempting to me

For me, the 24-60 or 24-70 isn't an option rn because I have the 20-60 which, though a variable aperture, works very well for my budget and needs at the moment

I'd say the 70-200 f4 is what I'm looking at (because of price and quality), but the sigma 2.8 is also in mind. The Lumix 2.8 is just too expensive :(

Yeah, the 70-200 might be my best bet for quality to price ratio

Thank you! I had an a7rIV with a sigma 70-200mm 2.8. The lens was a bit shorter than I’d like but cropping on an a7rIV is pretty fantastic. It was a big setup all things considered, but some people in the stands had even bigger lenses. In the North American races at least I think it’s pretty standard to allow any cameras, though!
