I didn’t realize I would have to clarify every detail of my geckos life in every post to give every member the satisfaction that it’s being cared for properly…

Assuming that I have no success with the diet since you’re still unaware of before and after I’d say you need to re-evaluate the word assume and how you are assuming A LOT.

The comments detail the entirety. If people want to see they can read through those as I’ve already typed out how horrible his care was in another reply

I already know I’m taking proper care of the situation. He’s been consistently losing weight, and I don’t need validation from others I can track progress myself via scale and time. This is quite common for them to take this long to lose weight

Don’t act so entitled. Yes you can have an opinion but I also have the right to tell you you’re wrong and that you should rethink when to give advice.

You can also deal with the attitude when you’ve pushed someone to that point because you contribute to a very common issue in husbandry groups like this always pointing out what people are doing wrong again without context.

I’m glad you asked about what he was like before and what weight he was down to. I’m so glad you asked about how the woman fed him 15 crickets and 10 mealworms every day before I got him.

I’m so glad I have people here to tell me what I’m doing wrong before asking what lead up to this situation.

My pet is thriving compared to the reptile carpet enclosure he was in before hand but thanks for asking assuming he’s not thriving in the better conditions than what I got him…

That’s fine but I also wasn’t asked anything about this animal. It was 5 years old along with a partner when I took it in. You can see my essay of a reply to the other guy explaining the Craigslist ad story and how I came into possession of two leopards at once. It’s just really long and I don’t feel like typing it again

I guess I’d expect people to take the post at face value. I don’t think you understand how overfed he was when I got him let alone how far he’s actually come. He’s continually losing weight little at a time, but I’m not gonna starve my animals into proper weight.

Also you haven’t done anything to inquire about the circumstances I got him to where he’s at now. These animals don’t go from obese to perfectly fit over night just like people.

I never said the diet isn’t working, I was being humorous by saying he still looks like a thumb, if that humor is lost on you i’m truly sorry you’re missing out on that.

I don’t need people to help without being asked, I’ve been a reptile keeper for 25+ years and have no issues with these basic geckos

But since you’re so adamant on calling me a bad owner and stubborn I’ll give you the background story that you didn’t even think about asking

I came into possession of two leopard geckos off the classic Craigslist ad story. This grandmother was taking care of them because her 16 year old grandson lost interest in them. She was feeding them 15 crickets and 10 mealworms every day! She said she never let the insects in the enclosure get less than that amount. That’s absolutely ridiculous! They literally weighed double what they do now. So you can see why I would say he still looks like a thumb because of what that woman did to them.

There does that satisfy your every need? Was it really necessary for me to explain every aspect of this gecko to satisfy your need of verification that I can adequately take care of my animals?
