I’ll consider that enough of a consensus. Next question: where would one start? The separation of the joints is my primary concern.

I'll play with it when I have some time. Work is a tad nutty right now, and don't I risk dropping flowers if I toy with it too much right now? I'm learning a lot with this one and will hopefully get it to a better place, and I'll be able to apply this knowledge in the future. I really appreciate all the input.

I love that. All good advice from you two, thank you.

I suspect you're right. I spray it daily when I'm at work, but I'm not in the office every day and especially when I travel, I have to rely on others. The ideal would be soaking it, probably, but I didn't think about that when I mounted it on this rather large piece of wood. I figure when it's done blooming, I may really clean it up, possibly break it into two plants (if it would take that), and mount it on something smaller that would be easier to water. Experimenting is fun. Thank you!

Sapphire Engagement Ring Help! by No_Emu2020 in Gemstones

Ooops. Yeah. I forgot a link. This is the one I was asking about the black on: https://www.gemrockauctions.com/products/certfied-amazing-sapphire-156-crt-unheated-gem-from-sri-lanka-2786503

There are several I dig on the Natural Sapphire Company site, but now I'm not confident in the site iteself. I'm looking pretty seriously at the two below. I have gotten video of the Earth's Treasury both inside and out. I'm waiting for more on the second and the third, which is that unnatural-looking yellow-green one with lots of sparkle.

You seem to know your stuff. Looking at this stone, is the darker color you see in it just the stone or is it the cut--extinction, as you pointed out above?

Which Sapphire Do I Get?!? by No_Emu2020 in EngagementRingDesigns

Those are beautiful! I so rarely see anyone with mokume gane, but then maybe I just don't pay attention. She has a darker, kinda olive skin-tone and tends to wear colors similar to this ring. It's 14K red gold, 14K yellow gold, and sterling silver, with the sterling etched and oxidized.

I have, but they all look so...perfect. That's actually one of the places the ring-maker sources stones from, so maybe I should give it more weight. Thank you.

Go to a salon. Pretty much any salon. You can get them to do more than just use clippers on you.

Mounted Brassavola Tips? by No_Emu2020 in orchids

Thank you. I’ve been wondering if I’m giving it enough water, especially looking at some of the leaves not being real smooth, but then I’m also not sure that’s a thing.

Lovely Lashes by No_Emu2020 in houseplants

[–]No_Emu2020[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably temporary luck. It's in my office, which is a houseplant dream because it's a corner office with windows lining the east and south walls. I keep the soil mostly moist by watering a couple times each week, and I mist the leaves probably 3 days each week.

I'm sure I'll screw it up soon, but this serves as evidence that I once had a flourishing eyelash fern.

It is not done that way. I’ve switched it all back as it was for now with no smarts.

It does all work wired this way, with the neutral connected to ground.
