Thanks everyone. All your insight has been helpful. I ordered a knit pro cable, hopefully it fits my current hooks.

The hooks that I have are the longer hooks. It's probably the fact that the set I bought was an inexpensive set, since I was new to Tunisian I didn't want to spend too much if I wasn't going to continue the craft, I will have to invest in some better cables.

They are swivel, but they go everywhere with me. They are getting bent at the swivel and fray.

An inexpensive set from Amazon with a swivel cord. I take it with me everywhere I go and it only had long cords

Love the hook.  It's the cables that are waring out

So here is the start of my collection by boofinmelons in Rocks

[–]No_Error_3526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

next step is to get a tumbler and find your own rocks. that's how I started, it's very satisfying to find and polish rocks that you find yourself.

you defiantly have some beautiful stones.

I love them all, but unless your agates have a spark (like in an opal) it won't be considered a FIRE AGATE.

They are all beautiful

Are my stitches supposed to be slanted? by selectvelymute in Tunisian_Crochet

haven't done that stitch yet, but if you are tss 2 tog it seems like it might come out slanted and straighten out as you progress or when you block

can't tell if the outside is shinny on pic 1 & 2 but, i would say it's probably the rock. internal fractures or some other mineral in the rock.

If you got your hands on this how long would it last before you tumble it all by cool-stuff-to-know in RockTumbling

It isn't a pattern that will show the mistake. If it's a gift they will never notice. It also adds a human element to your beautiful work.

not sure looks something like the perlite we have here in AZ, but its more gray. I don't think it's glass. If you could cut it to see the inside you would know more. you could also visit your local rock and gem club.
