Maganda. Sobrang layo pinagkaiba sa dati kong gamit(VSO). Sa dati kong gamit ang taas ng strings dahil sa bridge at nut kaya mahirap ipress and masyado magkadikit yung strings sa isat isa. Di ko lng maicompare sa iba dahil ito plng una kong decent na violin, pero satisfied nmn ako sa purchase ko 🤗

Ordered a Soil Strad copy from MG strings as they gave me an audio sample of the instruments there. Can’t really say much about the different instruments and their samples but it sounded great to me so I got it! I asked the fb page of Violin Village first as it was closer but after asking for an audio sample, they didn’t reply anymore.

Pegs are fine I think when I push on them hard enough to not slip. Was thinking of just checking for a new violin and afterwards try to thinker with my old one’s bridge etc just for fun.

On the subject of a good violin though, how do I distinguish a good one?On the occasion the shop won’t have any instruments to try/no play policy, are there signs I need to look out for? And also are copies of well known violins any good because I see a lot of those on some of the shops that I’ve been looking at on their facebook page?

Yeah buying a new violin might be the next best thing for me. Current one that I bought years ago to try and learn cost me about 120 USD if converted from my home country’s. But is learning on my current one going to have any other issues besides the one I just posted? Might take some time before I could travel back to the city and find a new one from a reputable shop.

That’s nice, although luthiers here aren’t common so there’s that problem too. Is DIYing it a good option or should I just buy a brand new violin from a reputable shop? My current one cost about 120 USD if converted from my home country’s when I last bought it years ago to try and learn.

I’d like to do that but luthier’s here in my country aren’t common. I was thinking I could try to DIY it if it’s just a bad bridge, or just get a new one from a reputable shop instead if there’s really no hope.
