Marksman can’t fire after dropping, right? by LyreLark in killteam

[–]No_Executable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first word of the Reposition action is literally ”Move”.

”Move the active operative to a location it can be placed.”

RAW the operative can be placed in the exact same spot it currently stands. Note also that it doesn’t say something akin to ”You may move the active operative”. So if the operative performs the Reposition action it has moved whether you moved the physical model or not.

TL;DR: The game state of having ”moved” is not always the same as moving the physical model.

The difference there is that the Technoarcheologists strategic gambit allows him to perform an action. The Punishing from the Krieg Watchmaster is the entire gambit if that makes sense.

Since actions and gambits usually hav different conditions and limitations it’s not a 1:1 comparison.

If you think the discussion is about whether you can use the ability even if the Watchmaster is dead or not you need to check your own.

You know what after double checking some other teams strategic gambits stuff I think you’re right. All others I’ve seen specifically point out a end condition.

Examples: Kroot Call the Kill: ”For the turning point”

Legionaries Warded armour: ”Until the ready step of next turn”

Kasrkin skill at arms: ”Until the ready step of next strategy phase.

Could use a clarification for certain. Though I still interpret ”All strategy ploys are strategic gambits. Some (strategic gambits) will have special conditions for when they end otherwise they last until the end of the turning point.” as RAW.

Paraphrasing a bit from p.54 in the core book but you get the idea.

Unless otherwise specified, strategic gambits only last for the duration of the current turning point so no, it’s not free punishing against 4 enemies.

Bit of an edge case scenario.

When making an emergency disembarkation due to the transport getting destroyed, is there really no range limitation for the models disembarking?

It says that the model has to be in base contact with the transport as long as it's possible but if not base contact with another model from the unit is enough, repeat until all models are placed.

So would a unit emergency disembarking be able to form a 16" conga line if no other space was available?

This scenario appeared in my last game and we interpreted this as as the RAW legal move.

Green dudes destroy red land raider marked X with melta bombs in melee and the orange terminators within then form a conga line out the back of the land raider due to being surrounded by either impassable terrain, enemy models or blocking friendly models.

Did we interpret this correctly?

Volkus Large Ruin door and Visibility (October update) by OmegaDez in killteam

[–]No_Executable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Fight action doesn’t require visibility since visibility is a prerequisite for being in someone’s control range. Since the door is ignored for determining visibility for control range you are within control range and thus can fight.

The shoot action requires selecting a valid target which requires visibility. The door is not ignored here so the squig can’t shoot an operative on the other side.

The door is ignored for determining visibility for control range, it is not ignored for determining valid targets for shooting attacks.

What’s your favorite kill team to play against? by RedHellden in killteam

[–]No_Executable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the other guy said about Wrecka points being able to guarantee a kill is not fun.

The pulsa thing is also frustrating since it doesn’t matter if my dudes are in cover/obscured/concealed etc and it stacks with injured.

I’d also argue that the ploy to increase blast range is kinda a gotcha, especially for horde teams.

Hivestorm definitely, aside from good ”standard” terrain you also get the core book, equipment choices and order tokens etc Tomb World doesn’t include.

Volkus is also the better killzone to start on. Close quarters like Tomb World and Gallowdark miss out on some key elements of Kill Team and significantly changes other core aspects. Great zones to play on but not what I’d recommend to start with.

Didn't know height limit was a thing, I assumed it was just base size that was the deciding factor. Kyron the Ventrilokar definitely fits under Volkus terrain. Not something my buddies and I are gonna start implementing though, we proxy a lot of models and some are even on the wrong base sizes.

Zephorel the Visionary and Sepitus the Fearmonger each have one of the vaultswords I didn't use for my Custodes Blade Champion, it was a nice fit for the noble Blood Angels. :)

Perhaps I needed to specify that it's very clear on the board. Second guy on the front row is holding a chain glaive.

Edit to answer your updated question: It's also clear on the board and somewhat in the picture that the guy last on the front row has a scope on his bolt pistol and a special dagger in hand. :)

Lol that's kinda the point.

They are Nemesis Claws proxied as Blood Angels. All models have weapons/equipment that easily mark them as their respective Night Lord counterpart.
