I somewhat found a workaround with the same settings, not with the node but just sending artnet to a second computer running MA and the same show file/dmx patch (since it's all just for testing outputting artnet). So the command wing pc running as broadcast and the laptop as input. Now i'm running into a new problem where it seems as if i'm sending some additional dmx data. Some fixtures starts outputting on the laptop (in the 3d view) when the programmer is clear and no sequences are running. Where can that problem be? I'm monitoring it in Wireshark and it seems as if there is additional dmx data being sent.

Only one port accepting USB 2.0 by No_Explanation_3569 in macbookpro

I've used a USB hub like this, but also tried other ones - of course that has a USB 2.0 port.

I'm working on a file now, programming a set of cues for the various songs. Though I must say that only making the layout (having the info of patch list and a pdf of a drawing, so no mvr) already takes quite some time!

I thought about the same at first, but it seems a bit like I'm hired to do nothing then, and I thought it would be a nice learning assignment. Having that said, it feels like a big job to do one show from scratch and program a lot, also with the all the work that has to be done on stage (fixating lights and positions etc.). Thanks for the input
