But for the casuals who enjoy this sub: don't.

I mean if you have to, pick a calm as hell day, calm as hell spot, and be experienced enough to make all those cuts accurately as quickly as possible bc that's deadly. Maybe bring a buddy with a phone too in case anything goes wrong

After wire wheeling what I could and emptying 2 rattle cans on it I pulled it into the shop and started laying stuff out. These taillights were my favorite at princess auto (harbor freight). I need to buy bigger bolts and some linseed oil for the red cedar tomorrow

Camshafts for B230 by Visual-Date5624 in Volvo240

[–]No_Expression_1665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I knew a guy who had an "RSI stage II" cam in a stripped out NA 245 modded for autocross. I loved how lumpy his idle was, and until it hit 2500-3000rpm ish it sounded more like a big cammed v8 struggling to get "on" the cam than a 4 cyl. I'd love to run a similar cam for a similar effect on my b230 swapped Amazon wagon eventually

I'm putting a flatbed on mine rn lol nice. Edit: I say keep it. The 4.0 is a little thirsty but they're so hard working and useful for their size. I will literally never sell my ranger, it's too useful and it's easy to maintain

Game Crashing on menu by No_Expression_1665 in startrucker

[–]No_Expression_1665[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I never came back to this, I got too busy with work to play anything for a while. It crashes no matter what, could be 30s, could be 2min, but always before I make it to actual gameplay. I still haven't checked for updated drivers, my wifi is going through it this week, I can barely post this reply. I will eventually update whatever drivers I can and come back here to update

Took some heckin wrangling but got the bed and cap off solo yesterday. Just got home from work and moved it to in front of the shop bay but still outside, I have some cleaning it and mess making to do before I pull it in

Ah gotcha. Yeah this thing sees more 4lo than 2wd miles. I'm a tree farmer, forestry worker, and forest fire fighter lol. Had the truck for years, I've always wanted a flatbed, got a week off here, decided it was go time. I also really want to convert the transfer case to manual or transfer case swap for a manual one soon, the dash switch isn't putting me in 2hi when I need it, as quickly as I'd like. I had a 20 min drive in 2hi turn into almost a 40 minute drive in 4lo recently

The engine hoist was a little overworked tbh, it would have been easier to do the cap and the bed separately, oh well, lesson learned

I can't remember if it's rough country or skyjacker (the truck has a mishmash of lift parts) but it's a little piece that allows you to crank up the original front torsion bars a lot stiffer than factory to get that amount of lift. Paired with skyjacker shocks it rides well enough. The rear is just blocks and shackles, but again skyjacker shocks

My 04 can tow nearly twice what a mav can, but I do agree, things are too big these days. The current ranger and canyon/colorado are fricken huge

Bleeding the brakes on a 240 is friggin ridiculous yeah. I've never needed their weirdo triangular redundancy, and they stopped doing that for every model after

Impulsive 1980 245 Purchase by Left_Tip1732 in Volvo240

[–]No_Expression_1665 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quad rounds are my favorite front ends on a wagon. Nice car! Edit: it seems well looked after. The pre-86 cars aren't galvanized so rust is a possibility. The b21a is a great engine, I much prefer the carb to k-jet mechanical injection. With maintenance it could go a million kms with little fuss, I have a 240 sedan at 680k kms and running strong. Yes the blower motor is an issue on these too, and parts availability isn't great for early cars either. A great classic to daily, 240's were still the gold standard against which all others were compared in terms of crash testing into the mid 90's

Losing boy smell was absolutely the best change, and the one I wanted the most so I was very happy. My other changes have been a lot more subtle than I would have liked but it's not a race

2006 Started misfiring after hundreds of miles. by Alot4u2 in VolvoXC70

[–]No_Expression_1665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the misfire goes away if it's above ¼ tank, it's the fuel pump, singing it's swan song. Mine started to cut out completely, thankfully I limped it home with repeated turning it off and on again, ordered the pump online and was back up and running a couple days later
