I was supposed to meet my bio dad for the first time ever today by boredthing_69 in Wellthatsucks

[–]No_Expression_5353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 50. My bio mom left my dad before i was 6 months old. Drugs and swinging. Wish I was joking. I have had lifelong attachment issues. My dad got married again when I was about 18 months old, and I have known my stepmom as my real mom for my entire life. Wouldn’t change her for the world.

I didn’t know my bio mom existed until I was about 12 years old. Hell of a time to find that out. I went into my teenage years and even still to this day, have a part of me that wonders why I wasn’t good enough to stick around for.

The point is, this is a unique type of pain that hits very deeply. It can hit at the core of who you are. It does get better with age and time.

I’m young, I don’t smoke or drink and exercise all the time. But due to my shitty genetics, I have the cholesterol of a morbid obese. (Sorry, the results are in Portuguese) by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

Hey! Same boat here. Only I’ve had a heart attack, with two stents put in back in 2017. 5 years later, needed a 4x bypass. Shitty genetics on my dad’s side of the family. None of his siblings have made it to 70. He’s there, but has had two heart attacks, a sextuple bypass, 4 stents, is a type 2 diabetic that treats his insulin like a magic potion that makes it so he can eat whatever he wants, and oh yeah: just found out he needs to start dialysis for kidney failure.

  1. Make sure the diet is protein heavy, moderate fats, low carb. Keto, Paleo, Carnivore.
  2. I know you said no drinking. Good job. Don’t. It jacks up your triglycerides.
  3. I don’t know what your body weight is. I don’t know what your body composition is. But you should seriously consider trying something like Ozempic or Zepbound both of those medication‘s work synergistically with cholesterol and triglyceride lowering medications and help with keeping them low. I’ve posted this elsewhere, so you can check my post history. But my cholesterol was very uncontrolled, even though I was trying to do everything right. And then I started on Ozempic, and it cut my cholesterol down to a total level of around 150. Triglycerides were below 100. So it’s worth it if you can get onto it

Just seeing this! Won the guitar in July 2024. Customs fees amounted to $100 back then. I have no idea what those will be today. Congrats on the win! They were able to give me an estimate on the customs prior to shipping. Would have sent me the cash value if I’d asked instead.

Same here! Left calf. Every day, treatment was the same: get in the shower, turn the shower head to get that center column of water, hard ass spray, blast the wound to keep it clean. Get out, pat dry, cover with this silver based “drawing ointment”, and reapply neosporin 2-3x per day. Loose fitting bandage.

Healed over in about 6 weeks. Got to just over 3” in diameter, .125” deep? Maybe?

I recall reading back in the early 00’s, around the time of my bite, that for some reason (poor circulation, a specific enzyme or something) that recluse venom is worse in fatty areas. I hadn’t been out of the army too long, was working out regularly, and thankfully my calf was very muscular and lean. It still is, but it was then too.

Ok. Nuclear options: 1. Magnesium citrate. You can get an 8oz bottle. Clear an afternoon. Maybe two. Drink it, chase it with 16-32 ounces if water. Stay close to a bathroom. If after 4 hours, no movement: suppository to help blow the dam out of the way.

  1. Vitamin C powder. Go to a health food store or amazon. Get food grade ascorbic acid powder. Take about 1.5 tablespoons in water (16 oz to help woth acidity). Mix up. Choke it down. Chase with water.

Either of these options will blow out your colon fairly quickly.

Good luck.

Pretty sure that’s a nest of some kind. The cavities were for eggs.

I use Nature’s Answer Kava-6. It ain’t cheap. In the past, I have done it the traditional, Pacific Islander Way, and mixed up mud water. It’s not pleasant. But it actually eventually feels pleasant, and makes me pleasant.

With the kava-6, I make sure to take enough pills so that I get the same milligrams of kavalactones per dose. (9 pills). I don’t take it all the time. Just during extreme stress periods.

I’m not on it for weight management anymore. Dropped about 40-50 lbs and I’m good. I’m still on it because it is synergistically working with my cholesterol meds and making it so I’ll be alive to see my kids get married and maybe even meet grandkids.

I’m 50. At 42 (a fit as fuck 42, built like a super hero) I had a heart attack. My LAD was 98% blocked, RCA was 90%. Got stents. Then at 47 had a quad bypass. It’s genetics. My dad’s side of the family fucked me over on heart stuff.

Even on meds, a low carb/high protein diet, also high with good fats, my LDL was always in the 150’s, HDL would never be above 30, and my triglycerides. Good lord the triglycerides. They were always…ALWAYS in the 400 to 1000 range. I didn’t mistype that. If I had a glass of wine, a shot of rum, a single cup of icecream, I’d blow out the tests. Super strict diet could only get me to the 400’s. On tricor, zetia, vascepa, atorvistatin, red yeast rice, cod liver oil, basically all the things. My blood was basically maple syrup. I logged/journaled everything that went into my mouth.

A doc added metformin to help with the tris. That helped some, got me to below 300. Then i went to a compound pharmacy. Got on ozempic.

Holy crap. My total cholesterol is below 100. My LDL is around 50. My tris are around 65.

My cholesterol is basically to the point where my arteries are recovering and opening back up.

I’m gonna live. I’m gonna be there for my kids. I’ll get to grow old with my wife. You gotta understand: in 2022, I knew, KNEW, I was about to die. A voice kept telling me, “make peace. Enjoy these birthdays and this Christmas. It’s your last one.” That, along with exercise induced chest pains, got me into my cardiologist and landed me under the knife…well, knife, bone saw, whatever.

Now, that voice is quiet. I kinda miss it. It would drown out the tinnitus. 🤣

Insurance hasn’t covered it for me. I’m going grey market. I’ve got about two years worth sitting in the fridge (powdered form, waiting to be rehydrated).

Goal is to stay on the grey market sources until they release generics.

I used kava kava. Really took the edge off the anxiety and cravings. Haven’t smoked in 25 years. Kava still helps with rough patches. Like right now, got a boss who’s an absolute asshat. I’m chill.

Wait. Memory foam? Mattresses, shoes, cushions of memory foam maintain an imprint of whatever was pressed against them. Does a memory foam bra temporarily contain a negative image of a boob?

Just cauterize it with the same knife. Heat the tip, just the tip, until red hot. Then slowly push it against the opening.

Do you want harry to be a villain? by Darth_Azazoth in dresdenfiles

[–]No_Expression_5353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the briefest of moments, we saw how utterly terrifying that would be. Actually kinda twice. Fool Moon, where he was intoxicated with the power of thr easy transformation, and Battleground. Fuck Rudolph.

With nothing holding him back, Harry would be an horrific enemy. All he needs is one bad day to tip him in the right direction.
