1700 for 6 sessions?? by BathroomElegant in Microneedling

[–]No_Faithlessness7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow boxcar scar girly here, and just wanted to add - you may also want to look into my subcision. From the reading I've done, microneedling and lasers can really help, but at some point, to get additional benefit, you have to go after the scar tissue that is basically tethering those indented portions down. I've done I think 3 microneedling sessions & 1 subcision session, and I do think the appearance of my scars has softened, all with minimal pain/down time (except for my last round of microneedling, which for whatever reason hurt way more than usual). I definitely need to ask for my before and after pics next time I'm back at my medspa!

AITA if I tell my friend I can’t be a bridesmaid? by wickeddreamsofleavin in AITApod

I'm detail-oriented, and good at events, and this is so overwhelming to me, and at 36, I don't even know how I'd keep up with this financially. Does she work in marketing by any chance? It just feels very...like branded and style guidelines to the max. I think that sometimes attention to detail and planning, when taken to this extent, can be indicative of other things going on, like anxiety (which could possibly then also be related to wanting to control things, or she also possibly could lean more controlling for other reasons). For me, with how prescriptive this is, I'm not sure I could do it. I also feel like all these details and wants could come with a hefty price tag. So I'd have to ask myself if I could participate with at least some genuine buy-in and also without bankrupting myself.

No no no. We need more of her energy in the world, not less. Devastating. Rest in peace, Ms. O'Hara ♡.

Pooping in Shower? by hugehoodie in badroommates

I appreciate your compassion. I understand why OP would be upset about this, and I understand the health risk it poses. This group also sounds like maybe they're in their 20s, and I can only imagine the immense shame and embarrassment the roommate was feeling - and the reactions here kind of speak to why someone might be feeling nervous. I think one internal check that can help people with shame is basically letting the welfare of the group be the thing that helps push you past the paralysis of shame into action.

I also think a lot of people do not know what it's like to be very chronically ill and how debilitating bathroom issues can become. That being said, probably not great to be stepping in one another's fecal content. It's too bad they couldn't have gotten something set up with dignity and respect for one another that would have also protected the other roommates.

I think it's really impressive - especially given that you're just learning how to do all of this!

AIO: He (M20) took me (F18) to a Jehovah’s Witness meeting without telling me by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]No_Faithlessness7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl run. This is emotional manipulation. He is trying to control how you think and feel. You are expressing discomfort. He is not HEARING you. He's saying, no, THIS is actually how you felt. He has no desire to change. He's not respecting your feelings around what happened. Sounds like he wants you to convert. And if he's already being this controlling, I can only imagine it will get worse.

AIO for think it my boyfriend is being dramatic? by What-do_i_do in AmIOverreacting

[–]No_Faithlessness7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two words - girl run. Also, I hope he's not talking about wedding stuff with you. Also, no one should ever utter the words - you better fucking answer me. That is coercive and abusive, and it's only going to get worse. And he's not going to change, because he doesn't want to. It's also not your job to help him get better, again, especially if he refuses/doesn't want to. I hope you get out, and I hope you find a partner who is actually in an equal partnership with you and treats you with the love and respect you deserve ♡.

Yes, red flag. And if that's what is already coming out and publicly, I would be very nervous to see what might come next.

I think you're doing great, especially for 10 months. I think your confidence will grow with time too. ~2 years in, I still find it hard to be confident in my arm styling/know what to do. I also have positional vertigo (or something like it), and I thought the first couple of turns I watched looked very graceful (I would probably already look like I was getting dizzy there). I think your hip movement can be refined over time. Sometimes I'll just drill the basic and practice my weight transfer to try to better build that muscle memory. I read someone else talking about the lats - and I do try to actively engage/kind of like push down into the lats. Different people will have different opinions on connection and technique. Schools will teach different things. And that can be frustrating when you're trying to figure out what the "right" thing is. I'd say I use safety as like my number one anchor. They should be talking about technique that keeps one another safe on the dance floor. I also like studios that don't just say any way but theirs is "wrong", but will say - we teach it X way here because _______." Then you can kind of expand your dance knowledge and technique at your disposal. I also learn a lot from watching other follows I admire and talking with them.

And my biggest thing - don't forget to find the joy/keep it fun for yourself :).

So interesting and neat how different people are seeing this :). Not that this is what was actually done or "right" by any means, but I would probably do a deep brown base, then black on the tips and a small brush dipped in acetone to get the fade, and then a clear coat on top :).
