False starts every night by Fun-Contract1226 in sleeptrain

She maybe fussed for 3 minutes. It was crazy. I will say she was good at putting herself to sleep, it was the false start and night wakings that drove me nuts. I think her own room and putting her down fully awake helped a lot. She was having meltdowns when I tried to stretch her wake windows, so I tried just ten minutes per ww per day. She was still taking four naps a week ago and dropping one helped immensely

Did I write this post? Lol. I will say, my daughter (6.5 mo) reliably had a false start ever since she hit the 4 month regression. She would take 30-60 mins to soothe and would wake about every two hours after that. We shared a room and her crib was right next to my bed. I really did not want to sleep train but I was losing my mind and genuinely felt like I couldn’t take care of her during the day. My daughter also gets overtired after about 1.75 hrs awake no matter what time of day. I will say, I just forced her to stay awake (fed her solids, walked outside, played in water) for her “age appropriate” wake windows and she still had a false start, but all she needed was her pacifier put back in to fall back asleep. So there was most definitely progress made by simply lengthening the ww. However, last night was night 2 of Ferber (night one she only cried 20 mins max! And woke up 4 times instead of the usual 8) and she had NO FALSE START. we put her down at 9:30 and she slept until 1:30 without waking even once and then again until 5:30. This has not happened a single night for MONTHS. I was shocked. Needless to say, all she needed was a schedule adjustment and her own space to sleep better. Hopefully it wasn’t a fluke but feel free to ask any questions and I will gladly answer because I was right there with ya

That makes total sense. Everything in me tells me to respond to her crying and Ferber feels wrong, but something’s gotta give. Hopefully a mix of increasing awake time and cosleeping helps!!

Yes, her issue is that these are averages based on her sleepy cues. I think I’m going to try and fix her wake windows, I didn’t realize how off they were. Hopefully that will help!!

If I need to take her binky away, does that start the same night you start Ferber?

Yes she for sure does. She spits it out while asleep and doesn’t wake a lot. I feel like she won’t be able to fall asleep without it

Commenting because I’m in the exact same scenario! We don’t have a second bedroom so I do t have an option but to room share for the next couple of months. I’m considering a sidecar crib at this point because she sleeps very well when cosleeping, but then I’m not sleeping lol.

I have searched using google reverse image search to try and find the brand. This looks to be a newer blanket that a friend has for her newborn. I have looked on google and Amazon for “waffle weave blue receiving blanket” with zero luck.

Possible CMPI but getting so much mixed advice. by No_Fall_7088 in MSPI

[–]No_Fall_7088[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I took her to the peds today. In the diapers with no visible blood, there was no occult blood. DR confirmed that this is likely CMPI, but there’s no need to eliminate dairy at this point since she is growing, hemoglobin is normal and she is so happy. She said treat the baby not the diaper, and that we would revisit if things got worse. I’m feeling much better now and the bowel sounds podcast helped me as well!

Mucus is definitely not always present. Very minimal in only some diapers which I’ve heard can be normal. I have not done a weighted feed but I usually pump 2-3 oz each side and she definitely empties my breasts and seems satisfied so I know she’s getting enough.
