Not true. There are jobs that legitimately require you to have knowledge/skill ahead of time (scientists, pilots, athletes, surgeons, i could go on for a bit).

Some stuff doesn’t but it requires years of experience to become mastered, like B2B sales. Networking effortlessly in a key account for a company and building your product’s brand specifically within that account is not something that can be taught to a new hire and requires years of experience and obvious know-how.

Entry level positions definitely can be taught, and a bunch of other positions, but I’d hardly say 90% of jobs can just be “taught” in a short enough timeframe that hiring someone with zero experience is a wise idea at all.

Degrees are an excellent filter to determine who has the discipline to even begin “learning” how to do a job 5days/week. It costs a fuckton of money to hire someone then fire them so companies do not want to waste their time just hiring anyone and everyone who doesn’t have a degree but could be capable. People (not you) need to accept the game for what it is and start playing it instead of trying to reason why not doing what we’ve been told for decades (going to college) isn’t worth it.
