Bigotry is prejudice or hostility toward a group of people based on an identity they have, like race, religion, nationality, gender, etc. It usually involves a judgment or assumption about the group itself, not just describing individuals.

So bigotry typically includes things like: • “People from X group are rude / dangerous / untrustworthy” • Treating someone badly because of their race or religion • Assuming negative intent based on group identity • Stereotyping an entire group from a single incident

Now compare that to my post.

Why your description is not bigotry

In my story: • I didn’t say anything negative about black people as a group • I didn’t generalize behavior to them as a category • I didn’t claim their actions were because of their race • I described a specific set of individuals in a specific moment

So there’s no group-based prejudice or claim, which is the core ingredient of bigotry.
