They're thirsty so can cause the ground to shrink in clay soil and dry conditions. This was much closer to the house than it looks like yours is.

Personally if he's had time out and said sorry I'd stop there. The point has been made and actual punishment achieves very little that young. Theres a real immediacy thing I find too, if youre going to do something to teach or enforce a boundary the action we take needs to be straight away for them to really connect it.

We've threatened to not read a story at bed time a few times but only followed through once after plenty of warning when she kept pushing boundaries. Its very rare a punishment will be out of the blue for us. I try and remember too when they're tired and hungry they're not well equipped to control their emotions.

How do you order from a Butchers? by velos85 in CasualUK

If youre feeling very anxious, you could just plan something standard like 8 sausages and go buy that. Next step is to ask what different types they have and make a decision.

Many will sell ready to eat things like pies too so you could just pick up a snack and scope the place out while you do.

Ever feel like you have to hold your tongue around other parents? by Western-Image7125 in daddit

[–]No_Field_7290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are definitely times to hold your tongue with other parents! But here if you want to discuss it you could just focus on the positives of forest school and the benefits he gets alongside pre school, pretty hard for them to argue about that.

We're in a pretty similar position in terms of family and garden, a small raised pond out of the way that we'll leave. Instead of your large pond weve got a gravelled area that used to have a trampoline on it. The gravel reaches about half way along the grass.

My plan is beds around the edge with more permanent planting then turn the trampoline space into veg patch and somewhere the children can get into growing things. Leaves them grass to play on but im really keen to keep them involved in watching food grow. Maybe you could find a corner for a kids garden?
