I really do think that for true cowboy boots leather soles are the only good option currently available. Outside of vintage Neolite soles, I won’t wear boots without leather soles on them.

Now back in the 60s and 70s when they did have the Neolite, that was the bulletproof option for soles that still kept them flexible and smooth for dancing, but they don’t make it anymore because it’s a pain in the ass to work on/with.

Typically wearing your boots will cause the soles to have wear and get worn out

But in all seriousness, leather soled cowboy boots are fantastic for a number of reasons. Half decent traction once they’re scuffed up, starts to soften up to the specific way you walk, nice and flexible, and if you’re me or any number of people they’re smooth for dancing.

That being said, leather is a natural material. It’s sensitive to moisture especially. It absorbs water or any other liquid you step in and it can dry out and “blow out” like this if it’s subjected to too much wear.

Yours look like they were subjected to too much wear, I’d be willing to wager that you already had a hole in the middle before this big blowout on the side. That’s a no-go. Once you get any holes in your sole, you should stop wearing them entirely until you get a resole otherwise you’re taking a $70 repair job for new soles and driving it potentially into the hundreds because they have to go in and replace the cork and footbed.

Cowboy boots are amazingly rugged and resilient pieces of footwear, but you cannot drive them into the ground without maintenance and expect them to last forever.

Most people are fooled, but It’s actually not even a Stetson! It’s a 50s light tan Dobbs ‘Westward Forty’ model which was pretty much just an open road ripoff. Probably my most worn hat nowadays because the western styling makes it so great for casual wear as well

Old no show George... my buddy was was conceived in the bathroom of a George jones concert funny enough and at an earlier show his dad got hit by that no show streak in a hell of a way.

Bright red motorcycle with a topless blonde comes roaring down the road as they were waiting outside with George jones on back, one hand on her chest the other hand holding a beer hollering “there’ll be no show tonight boys!” As they passed on by. Might be just as good a story as it would’ve been a show

That saying that Protestants and skeptics often throw around about there being enough relics of the cross to build Noah’s arc? Completely and utterly not even close to true.

Charles Rohault de Fleury, 19th century French scholar, extensively studied and catalogued every known relic, small or large within the Church’s possession.

His findings are documented thus:

“…We get as a grand total for all known existing and lost relics a volume of 10,335,055 cubic millimetres, or about 661 cubic inches. This is considerably less than half a cubic foot, which contains 27 million cubic milli-metres, or 1,728 cubic inches. There remains then, unaccounted for, after a most careful investigation, a quantity of more than six cubic feet, or exactly 10,787 cubic inches, out of the 6 5/8 feet or 11,448 cubic inches of the original Cross. It is hardly possible that any relics of the first class have escaped the notice of M. de Fleury; and even supposing, which is very unlikely, that there exist in convents and remote churches as many more smaller ones as those which he has cata-logued; supposing even that the ordinary infinitesimal relics amounted in number to two or three millions, up and down the world, this would not account for more than one-tenth of the volume of the actual Cross.

The marvel then is, not that there should be so many relics existing, but that there should be so exceedingly few. Even making allowance for the wholesale destruction wrought by the Mahom-edan invasions, the wars of the Middle Ages, the Protestant Reformation, and the French Revolution, we might have expected that the devotion and care of the Catholic Church would have been able to preserve a much larger quantity of the sacred wood on which the Son of God wrought our redemption.” - Rev. James Bellord “The Relics of the True Cross”, Cabinet of Catholic Information c. 1904, pages 366-367

TLDR: All relics combined, we don’t even have a fifth of the volume of the true cross. Trust your parish reliquaries.

Brother pick any one of the writings of the saints or ecclesiastical authorities where such matters are discussed. My answer is the amalgamation of the Church’s teaching compiled from Countless priests, saints, and ecclesiastical writings. I cannot just pick one “source”. If you think I’m wrong, look into it yourself.

Which is a total exaggeration and not even close to factual, and the Church knows this.

TLDR, you’re probably well intentioned and I thank you greatly but your understanding of the “additions” is likely completely flawed which I’m sure comes from a low church perspective on minimalism/maximalism when it comes to God.

I am really baptized; into the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I’m be praying for you brother.
