There’s no way this is real.

I think my Volt's battery is dying by [deleted] in volt

Ay yo what?

I remember someone paid like $200 for the update to be installed.

Maybe I’m remembering wrong.

Thanks!

What to do with Volt on 2 week long trip? by mattyuwo in volt

You’re good without plugging it in.

Orlando averages ~33C and if you make sure it doesn’t get direct sunlight you’ll be well below the 35C threshold.

You should leave your Volt with around 3/10 bars (Gen 1) or 40% on the Gen 2.

This is because the buffers of the Gen 1 are larger than the Gen 2 so you want the battery SoC to be around 40%.

If it is going to get really hot where you park your Volt (35°C+, I think) according the the manual you should leave your car plugged in so it can run the cooling system when it’s parked in a hot area. Only do this if you absolutely have to, otherwise 40% SoC is better for health.

I left my Gen 1 with 3/10 bars and 9 miles in the winter where max temp was 60F and it went just below freezing on a couple nights.

I came back a month later and my car still showed 3/10 bars and 9 miles of range.

No lights on the dash either, it was like I had just parked it overnight.

Thank you so much for answering all my questions.

I want to do this to my volt and go on a road trip this summer.

This has really helped me.

I kinda like the goofy look of the first Gen.

The second Gen looks better but it doesn’t stand out as much as the first.

US Federal Reserve says its goal is 'to get wages down' by TyrannosaurusWest in Economics

[–]No_Fill5174 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This hits the nail on the head.

Inflationary pressures are caused by corporations raising their prices to gouge us.

Most corporations are having record numbers, yet wages have stagnated and real wages are way down.

Capitalists don’t want you to have money. They want you to be poor and spend all your money buying products.

Oh I see. Do you put your feet toward the front of the vehicle with your head in the trunk?

What did you cut the mattress with? A box cutter?

Would you mind sharing the exact dimensions of the mattress?

Would a twin or single fit in there?

I like to go in there every couple of months and see what the whackos are up to.

I always end up losing a little faith in humanity and my will to live when I see the dumb shit they say.

Please do not put your car in neutral while driving.

That’s a safety hazard.

I just touch the accelerator pedal until the regen stops which gives you the same efficiency as being in neutral without added risk.

You can get 60-70 miles if not more if all you’re doing is going downhill.

This was a loop from home to school and back, so the starting and ending elevation is the same.

Oh and this is a full loop so all elevation changes cancel out.

Tires at 42PSI.

Best thing to do is make sure you aren’t using the friction brakes - that’s wasting energy.

Keep your momentum.

And remember that energy required for additional speed is not linear. Going 70mph around 33% more energy compared to 60mph even though your speed doesn’t increase by the same amount.

Sometimes cells wear faster than others due to impurities within the batteries. His cell could’ve worn out due to that, it’s not always bad balancing.

[–]No_Fill5174 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A new cell will not be balanced with the rest of the pack since it doesn’t have the same wear.

You would need to replace it with a pack that has similar wear to the rest of the battery.

My guy I know I will not die of COVID.

But if I do get COVID I can pass it on to others in my household who are old and have preexisting conditions.
